What's the matter with the small fleshy pimple under the armpit?

Although the armpit does not provide any direct help to our human body, there are many neurons and acupoints in the armpit, and the health-preserving effect can be achieved by massaging the armpit. Sometimes, small bumps appear under our armpits. This may be a precursor to some diseases, which require us to actively understand and then treat them. So what are the causes of small bumps under the armpits?

One, it could be a skin tag

Skin tags are soft fibroids. A medical term, also known as soft hanging wart, refers to a soft, skin-colored growth that is attached to the skin surface by a thin pedicle-like tissue. It is common in middle-aged and elderly people, especially in women, and is prone to occur in the neck, armpits, and groin folds.

Countermeasures: Smaller skin lesions can be removed or cut off, or burned with electrocautery, freezing, CO2 laser, or trichloroacetic acid and pure carbolic acid.

Second, lipoma

Located in the subcutaneous fat layer, it has clear boundaries, is soft, and is painless. It generally does not become infected and does not require treatment if there is no growth or pain.

Countermeasures: If treatment is required, surgical resection is the main approach, as there is no effective drug to control its growth.

Third, it may be swollen lymph nodes

There are three common situations in which axillary lymph nodes are swollen:

1. Benign swelling

Includes swelling caused by various infections, connective tissue diseases and allergic reactions. The clinical course is usually benign and can be fully recovered within a certain period of time as the cause is eliminated.

2. Malignant swelling

It includes malignant tumors originating in the lymph nodes, such as lymphoma, lymphocytic leukemia and malignant histiocytosis, as well as lymph node metastasis of other malignant tumors, such as lung cancer, gastric cancer and breast cancer. The clinical course is malignant, with persistent and progressive enlargement of lymph nodes. If not treated actively, the disease will often progressively worsen and lead to death.

3. Swelling between benign and malignant

Such as angioprimitive immunocytic lymphadenopathy and angiofollicular lymphadenopathy. It often starts out benign but can become malignant and fatal.

How to deal with it: If the swollen lymph nodes under the armpit are mild, they will get better naturally after a period of time; or you can take some ordinary anti-inflammatory drugs or get some anti-inflammatory injections. However, if the swelling is severe and does not heal after long-term anti-inflammatory treatment, treatment is needed: first, to prevent it from further worsening; second, the body needs it to restore its function, exert its immune and bactericidal effects, and enhance physical fitness.

4. It may be accessory breast

Some women may have accessory breasts, which are characterized by unclear boundaries, soft masses, and are often bilateral. Some patients may experience distension and pain during menstruation.

How to deal with it: Although accessory breast is a developmental abnormality, it generally has little impact on human health and does not require treatment. If you are concerned about it, you can undergo surgical removal.

5. It may be axillary folliculitis

When the symptoms of axillary folliculitis first occur, they mostly appear in batches. Each lesion takes 5 to 7 days to be absorbed and healed. However, new lesions of axillary folliculitis symptoms continue to occur, so the course of the disease often lasts for several weeks to several months, and sometimes even longer. The symptoms of axillary folliculitis are sometimes mild and sometimes severe, and they do not heal repeatedly. The degree of itching varies and is sometimes accompanied by slight pain. During examination, the lymph nodes near the affected area are swollen, and fever may occur when the lesion is severe.

Solution:

1. First of all, you must pay attention to the cleanliness of your skin, and avoid irritation such as scratching.

2. Patients should try to eat less irritating food and animal fat, and maintain bowel movements every day.

3. If you are a diabetic patient, you should treat the primary disease in time to prevent the induction of folliculitis.
