The effects and functions of tea oil for external use

There are many types of oils, such as soybean oil, peanut oil, etc., which are all edible. Tea oil is one of them. It can be used to relieve wound pain and remove redness and swelling. It is an oil extracted from plants and can also be used as food. It has many functions and effects, and has no sequelae or side effects. Many people are willing to use it to treat themselves. So what are the functions and effects of external use of tea oil?

Tea oil, commonly known as camellia oil, also known as camellia oil and camellia seed oil, is a pure natural high-grade edible vegetable oil extracted from the mature seeds of common camellia (Camellia oleifera Abel) of the Theaceae family. It is golden or light yellow in color, pure in quality, clear and transparent, with a fresh fragrance and pure taste.

Camellia oleifera, commonly known as mountain camellia, wild tea, and white flower tea, is a high-quality edible oil plant unique to China. Camellia oleifera and tea (scientific name Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze) are of the same genus but different species. The vegetable oils extracted from their seeds are completely different. The former is called camellia oleifera oil and the latter is called tea seed oil.

More than 90% of the world's camellia oil production comes from China. As early as 100 years BC during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, China began to grow oil tea, and it has a history of more than 2,000 years. It grows in the natural, pollution-free mountains and hilly areas in the subtropical humid climate zone of southern China. It can be planted in more than 10 provinces. The main producing areas are Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Chongqing and other provinces, cities (regions) in China. The current cultivated area in the country is about 45 million mu, with an annual output of 1 million tons of camellia seeds and 270,000 tons of camellia oil. Tea oil is a pure natural woody edible vegetable oil advocated and promoted by the Chinese government, as well as a health-care plant edible oil recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
