How to heal a chapped lip quickly

How to heal a chapped lip quickly

The lips are actually a very fragile part of the human body and are often easily injured. For example, some people like to eat spicy food, which can easily cause their lips to get inflamed, and symptoms such as redness, swelling and blistering may occur. Some people accidentally bite their lips when eating, while others hurt their lips during exercise. Today I will tell you how to heal chapped lips quickly.

How to heal a chapped lip quickly

1. What to do if your lips are cracked

(1) Prevent infection

If the wound on the lips is not deep and there is not much bleeding, you do not need to go to the hospital for debridement. You can disinfect it yourself with iodine tincture and take oral laxative and anti-inflammatory drugs to prevent wound infection. There is no need to intervene too much, the lips have a strong healing ability.

(2) Wait for it to heal on its own

The lips have a very strong ability to regenerate themselves. If your lips are broken, as long as it does not cause infection, they will heal slowly on their own and will not have much impact on your life. Especially when the mucous membrane on the inside of the lip is broken, it heals relatively quickly! But it is easy to form ulcers and cause pain!

(3) Apply sesame oil

If the outer side of your lips is cracked due to dryness and lack of water, you can apply a layer of sesame oil on your lips to moisturize them. Sesame oil has anti-inflammatory and wound healing effects.

(4) Clearing away heat and reducing internal heat

Many times, cracked lips are caused by getting too hot. At this time, you can take some anti-inflammatory medicine or drink some anti-inflammatory tea to help the lips heal. For example, soaking sterculia lychnophora in water can help eliminate internal heat and accelerate the healing of lip wounds.

(5) Apply honey

If the inside of the lips is scratched and an ulcer is accidentally formed, you can directly use chopsticks to dip in honey and apply it on the ulcer. It can not only relieve pain but also promote the healing of the ulcer.

(6) Eat less spicy food

After your lips are broken, you should pay more attention to your diet. You should eat light and nutritious food, drink plenty of water, eat more vegetables and fruits, avoid spicy and irritating foods, and pay attention to oral hygiene. This will be more conducive to wound healing.

2. What to do if your lips are chapped in autumn

(1) Gentle exfoliation

The dry climate makes our lips dry. The annoying lip lines and rough dead skin will make people look older. Many times we feel that the color of our lips is not good-looking, and even cracks and peeling appear. These are all caused by the keratin on the lips.

First, apply a hot towel to your lips for about 3 minutes, then gently rub white sugar on your lips until the sugar is completely melted.

(2) Regular lip massage

Regular lip massage can reduce lip wrinkles: pinch the upper lip with your index finger and thumb, keep the index finger still, and use your thumb to massage the upper lip; then pinch the lower lip with your index finger and thumb, keep the thumb still, and gently move the index finger to massage the lower lip.

(3) Carry lip balm with you

The weather is dry, and the skin on the lips is prone to dehydration and dryness, so carry a lip balm with you to rescue the dry lip skin. Choose lip balm products made from natural ingredients to deeply moisturize your lips.

Apply chlortetracycline eye ointment and take Niuhuang Jiedu tablets. On the third day, scabs began to form. Some people say that applying diluted alcohol five or six times a day will also heal faster. But I haven't tried it. I always apply eye ointment.

Someone told me that if it is in the early stage of blistering, that is when it starts to itch. Applying wind oil will prevent it from flaring up. If you have aloe vera gel at home, it is also good to use it. Take some B2 and vitamin C.
