Is squid a fish?

It is an animal belonging to the phylum Mollusca, class Cephalopoda, subclass Dibranchia, order Decapoda. The squid head is not rich in lecithin and unsaturated fatty acids like real fish. Therefore, do not differentiate the nutrients between the squid's head and body as you do with fish.

Squid is actually a shellfish

Squid and cuttlefish are "relatives", but in fact it is not a fish, but a kind of shellfish, but its shell has degenerated into a white endoskeleton. The squid has a long and narrow body, a bit like the tip of a javelin, so it is also called calamari.

Squid is 24K pure shellfish. Shellfish is equivalent to the phylum Mollusca, and squid is the common name for some organisms of the class Cephalopoda. Strictly speaking, the name "squid" is unscientific, because this word was a common name given to the classification system at that time due to economic factors decades ago. However, at the beginning of this century, mainland China has basically accepted the new classification system of cephalopods, which is very different from the original classification system. The classification units of the species referred to by squid have also been broken up and divided. From a scientific point of view, this name has little meaning.

What is fish?

Which animals are considered "fish"? Modern taxonomists define "fish" as: vertebrates that live in water all their lives, breathe with gills, and swim with fins. Common ones include: crucian carp, carp, silver carp, black carp, grass carp, hairtail, eel, etc.

That is, fish are cold-blooded aquatic vertebrates covered with bony scales, breathing with gills, swimming through the swinging of the tail and trunk and the coordinated action of the fins, and feeding with the upper and lower jaws. They belong to the subphylum Vertebrata in the phylum Chordata. Generally, people divide vertebrates into five major categories: fish (53%), birds (18%), reptiles (12%), mammals (9%), and amphibians (8%).
