Difference between reproductive surgery and urology

With the rapid development of modern medicine, a large number of standardized medical institutions have been formed, and various treatment departments focusing on different tissues of the body have been established. Among them, reproductive department and urology department are two common departments, both of which provide treatment guarantees for good health. However, the two departments have similarities as well as many differences. Let’s take a look at the differences between reproductive surgery and urology.

Urology is a department of surgery that deals with diseases of the urinary system, including the kidneys, bladder, ureters and urethra. Andrology mainly deals with problems of the male reproductive system. The more common diseases are prostate diseases, sexual dysfunction and male infertility. In the current situation, it is recommended to have a blood test to check sex hormones, blood sugar and blood lipids to determine the cause. You can choose to take sildenafil or tadalafil tablets for treatment.

The main treatment scope of urology department includes: various urinary stones and complex kidney stones; kidney and bladder tumors; prostatic hyperplasia and prostatitis; inflammation and tumors of the testicle and epididymis; hydrocele of the testicular cord; various urinary system injuries; congenital malformations of the urinary system such as hypospadias, cryptorchidism, hydronephrosis caused by stenosis of the ureteropelvic junction, etc.

Urology should not be called "Urology" because it does not include the "internal medicine" part related to urine, such as nephritis, diabetes, diabetes insipidus, etc. This should be distinguished to avoid confusion. However, the situation is changing, science is advancing, and new projects are constantly being transferred from the scope of internal medicine to urology, such as renal vascular hypertension and some adrenal diseases, so we must also look at the problem dialectically and materialistically.

From a basic understanding, reproductive medicine is indeed a branch of obstetrics and gynecology. There is no independent course in undergraduate medicine. Reproductive medicine is closely related to obstetrics and gynecology but is also different. Reproductive medicine itself is a broad and profound subject. It is not limited to gynecology, but also covers reproductive endocrinology, male infertility, genetics, assisted reproductive technology and other profound knowledge.
