Why do I blush when running

Why do I blush when running

The face turns red after running, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. When running, the blood circulation in the body is faster and the oxygen content in the blood is higher. At this time, the blood vessels will appear red and the capillaries will expand, which will lead to this phenomenon. Of course, if the face turns red after a little exercise, you should also be alert. This may be caused by ruptured capillaries, too thin stratum corneum and other reasons.

Why does my face turn red after running?

1. Capillary dilation: When running, the body's blood circulation speeds up, the body temperature also rises, and the capillaries on the face tend to dilate, which will cause blushing after running. 2. Improper breathing while running. If you do not pay attention to your breathing method while running or the exercise intensity is too high, the oxygen you inhale cannot meet the body's needs, resulting in hypoxia. Your face may become particularly red after running. How to breathe: In daily life or when you are exercising less, breathing through your nose can humidify and warm the air in your nasal cavity, making breathing less strenuous and more comfortable. However, when doing moderate-intensity exercise such as running, the body's demand for oxygen increases significantly, and airway resistance also increases. Therefore, it is recommended that people use the mouth and nose breathing method when running, and exhale and inhale at the same time.

3. Burst capillaries: When the facial skin is suddenly stimulated, it is easy for the tiny capillaries to burst and cause blushing. When running, your body temperature rises and if the weather is hot, the skin on your face will be stimulated by the heat and crack, causing your face to become extremely red. 4. Facial congestion The face is rich in blood vessels and is close to large blood vessels. Running accelerates blood circulation, which increases blood supply to the face, resulting in congestion in the head and redness of the face after running.

5. The stratum corneum on the face is too thin. If the stratum corneum on the face is too thin, the facial skin will be more sensitive. Therefore, after running causes the body temperature to rise and blood circulation to accelerate, it is easy to get blushing. 6. Too large a temperature difference in the environment . When the temperature difference is too large, such as returning to a warm room after running in the cold outdoors in winter, or returning to an air-conditioned room from the hot outdoors in summer, such sudden changes in temperature will cause the blood vessels in the face to lose elasticity due to repeated contraction and expansion, resulting in red cheeks.

7. Emotional excitement and other factors lead to increased secretion of adrenaline. Adrenaline and norepinephrine are collectively referred to as catecholamines. Catecholamines are secreted by the adrenal medulla, and the activity of the adrenal medulla is controlled by the sympathetic nerves. During running, the sympathetic nervous system is highly activated, which in turn increases catecholamine levels. The increase in adrenaline secretion will cause the facial capillaries to open and increase blood circulation, resulting in blushing.
