Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide is a colorless, transparent liquid, but it is volatile and its solubility decreases when the temperature rises. Its main uses in life are as paints, inks, lubricants, tractors, and vulcanization accelerators. However, it should be noted that its hazards are also relatively large. Inhalation, ingestion, or penetration through the skin will have an impact on our health, and long-term contact can cause dermatitis. 1. Application 1. Used as solvent for cellulose acetate, acrylic resin, alkyd resin, coating, ink, etc., binder for dyes, dewaxing agent for lubricating oil, vulcanization accelerator, etc. 2. Used as a reagent for the determination of cadmium, copper and mercury, a standard substance for chromatography analysis and a solvent for semiconductor lithography 3. GB 2760-96 stipulates that the edible flavorings are allowed for use. Mainly used for preparing cheese, coffee and banana flavors. It can also be used as an extraction solvent. 4. Butanone is mainly used as a solvent, such as in lubricating oil dewaxing, coating industry and various resin solvents, extraction process of vegetable oil and azeotropic distillation of refining process. Its advantages are strong solubility and lower volatility than acetone. It is a medium-boiling point ketone solvent. Butanone is also an intermediate in the preparation of medicines, dyes, detergents, fragrances, antioxidants and certain catalysts. It is used in the synthesis of anti-skinning agent methyl ethyl ketone oxime, polymerization catalyst methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, corrosion inhibitor methyl pentynol, etc. In the electronics industry, it is used as a developer after integrated circuit lithography. 5. Butanone is the raw material for preparing the miticide tebufenpyrad. 6. It is a raw material for organic synthesis and can be used as a solvent. It is used as a dewaxing agent for lubricating oil in the oil refining industry, and is also used in the pharmaceutical, coating, dye, detergent, fragrance and electronics industries. Solvent for liquid inks. It is used in the manufacture of nail polish in cosmetics. As a low-boiling point solvent, it can reduce the viscosity of nail polish and has quick-drying properties. 2. Hazards Routes of entry: inhalation, ingestion, and percutaneous absorption. Health Hazards: Irritating to eyes, nose, throat and mucous membranes. Long-term contact may cause dermatitis. This product is often used in combination with 2-hexanone, which can enhance the peripheral neuropathy caused by 2-hexanone, but no peripheral neuropathy was found when exposed to butanone alone. Explosion hazard: This product is flammable and irritating. |
