What is lubricant

Lubricant is a medium that can reduce frictional resistance and avoid wear. It can also cool, clean and avoid pollution during friction. In order to change the lubrication performance, some businesses will add suitable additives to the lubricant. When choosing a lubricant, we need to pay attention to the friction movement and material, as well as the surface roughness, working environment, type of work and other factors.

When selecting lubricants, the following principles should be followed :

1. If the fluidity of the polymer can meet the needs of the molding process, the main consideration is whether the external lubricant meets the process requirements and whether it is easy to demold to ensure internal and external balance.

2. Whether the external lubrication is ideal depends on whether it can form a complete liquid film on the plastic surface during molding. Therefore, the melting point of the external lubricant should be close to the molding temperature, but there should be a difference of 10-30°C so that a complete film can be formed.

3. The compatibility with polymer is moderate, the internal and external lubrication is balanced, no frost, and not easy to scale.

4. The lubricant has excellent heat resistance and chemical stability. It does not decompose during processing, does not volatilize, does not corrode equipment, does not pollute products, and is non-toxic.

Characteristics of medical surgical instrument lubricants :

Commonly used medical devices are mostly made of iron with a nickel-chromium layer on the surface. When the nickel-chromium layer is destroyed and the impure iron (containing carbon) is exposed to the air, an oxidation reaction occurs when it comes into contact with oxygen and water, causing rust. The use of medical surgical instrument lubricants can effectively avoid or delay the corrosion of surgical instruments. Ideal medical surgical instrument lubricants should meet the following characteristics:

⒈ Water-soluble lubricant, the effect is stable every time it is used, ensuring effective penetration of sterilization.

⒉ Effectively lubricate the joints of the instrument to make the instrument more flexible to use.

⒊ Anti-corrosion, extending the service life of the equipment.

⒋ Less auxiliary additives, reducing additive residues and spots on the surface of the device.

5. Low foam, does not affect the normal use of the cleaning machine.
