What disinfectant is the best

What disinfectant is the best

There are actually many kinds of disinfectants in our lives. The main difference between them is that they disinfect different items. Only in this way can targeted disinfection be more effective. When disinfecting, there is actually no saying that one disinfectant is better than another. We can only say which disinfectant is better for certain items. Targeted disinfection is also good for your health.

Types of household disinfectants :

1. 84 disinfectant and peracetic acid : mainly used for disinfection of floors, walls, doors and windows in public places such as hospitals. They are highly corrosive and not suitable for home use. The car compartment can be disinfected with 0.5% peracetic acid solution. Household washing machines can be disinfected with 84 disinfectant every two or three months.

2. 94 disinfectant : It is mainly composed of complex quaternary ammonium salt. It is non-toxic, odorless, non-corrosive and non-irritating. It can kill intestinal pathogens, pyogenic cocci and pathogenic yeasts. It can quickly kill bacteria and viruses on the surface of various utensils and objects such as fruits, clothes, and tableware.

3. Dettol and Lysol : More suitable for home use and can kill bacteria. Generally, you can add 3 to 5 drops to the water in the washing machine drum. You can also add water to make a 1% to 5% solution, soak clothes and sheets in it for half an hour to an hour and then wash with water. It can also be prepared into a 1% to 3% solution and used to wipe indoor furniture and floors.

4. Bleach : 1% to 3% bleach liquid can be used for spraying or wiping bathrooms and toilets; 0.5% bleach liquid can also be used to soak bowls, cups, spittoons, chamber pots and contaminated clothing.

5. Potassium permanganate : Suitable for disinfection of fruits and vegetables, but the soaking time must be more than 5 minutes.

Nowadays, many people use disinfectants to disinfect their home environment, believing that this can ensure the cleanliness of the indoor environment and prevent the spread of diseases. However, there are certain methods and precautions for using disinfectants. Using disinfectants too frequently will affect the health of your family and reduce their immunity. Let’s take a look at the usage and precautions of disinfectant.

How to use household disinfectant :

1. Under normal circumstances, a home only needs cleaning and hygiene, and no disinfection is required. Disinfection is only necessary when there is a patient at home, especially a patient with an infectious disease, or when outsiders visit.

2. For ordinary families, physical disinfection methods should be used as much as possible, such as steaming and exposure to the sun. The best way to sterilize tableware is by boiling or using a sterilizer. Clothes and bedding are mainly dried in the sun. Indoor air disinfection is mainly achieved by opening windows for ventilation regularly. When washing hands, if you have not come into contact with the patient, use ordinary soap and running water.

3. Disinfect key areas of frequently touched surfaces, such as door handles, stair railings, floor mats, faucets, etc. Do not spray disinfectant over a large area of the room.

4. For washbasins and toilets, you only need to spray an appropriate amount of disinfectant on the surface, and then rinse with plenty of tap water, otherwise it will corrode the pipe network; for floor drains and sewers, do not add special disinfectants for disinfection, because disinfecting floor drains or sewers usually does not achieve the purpose of disinfection and disease prevention, and will also corrode the pipe network and bring troubles.

5. Do not miss the disinfection of key items, such as dishcloths. Due to frequent use, they are often in a wet state and are in contact with a lot of organic matter such as food, which is very conducive to the growth of bacteria. Therefore, they should be exposed to the sun and boiled for disinfection frequently.

6. Pet nests should be disinfected regularly.
