When does jackfruit mature

The nutritional value of jackfruit is relatively high. When the season of jackfruit comes, many people enjoy it. Jackfruit is also a relatively important economic fruit in the world. Generally, it will be on the market from September to October every year. The flesh and core of jackfruit can be eaten. It has high nutritional value and is also very good for improving the body's immunity.

When is jackfruit available?

Jackfruit is the heaviest fruit in the world. It usually blooms from February to March and matures and goes on the market from September to October. When the fruit is ripe, the skin is yellow-brown, with tumor-like protrusions and coarse hairs on the surface. A single fruit usually weighs 5 to 20 kilograms, and the heaviest can exceed 59 kilograms. It is widely cultivated in Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and other places in my country, and is also cultivated in Nepal, Sikkim, India, Bhutan and Malaysia.

Which parts of jackfruit can be eaten

1. The flesh bag is the one that wraps the core. The thread-like ones are not edible because they are still attached to the skin.

2. The core, which is the seed, can also be eaten. It is soft and delicious when cooked, but some people are not used to it.

What is the difference between jackfruit and durian?

Durian is a tropical fruit. In my country, it is only found in Taiwan, Hainan and other places. Durian is not produced in other places. The production area of jackfruit is mainly in the subtropical area and it is produced in abundance in the Lingnan area of my country.

1. From the taste

When buying durian, you can quickly distinguish them just by smelling them. Durian usually smells stinky, and some people avoid it when they smell it, but durian also has another characteristic: the more you smell it, the more fragrant it becomes. However, jackfruit has a rich aroma that leaves a lingering taste in your mouth.

2. From the appearance point of view

Jackfruit is bigger than durian, jackfruit is bigger. There are many long and sharp spikes on the skin of durian, and the color is darker than that of jackfruit, that is, more yellow. The skin of the pineapple tree is like crocodile skin, with many dense spikes on it. Ripe durian usually has a natural crack, which makes it taste better. The fresh jackfruit is the one with intact skin and no damage.

3. From the perspective of the flesh

After the durian is cut with a knife, its flesh is relatively soft and has a stinky smell. There is a layer of yellow coating on the outside of the jackfruit flesh, and you eat this coating when you eat it. Another notable feature of jackfruit is that when it is cut, a kind of colloid will stick to the knife in the middle, which is difficult to remove, so everyone should try to wear gloves when eating jackfruit; this is not the case with durian.

4. From the perspective of price

Durian is more expensive than jackfruit, so they can be distinguished from the price. However, if you encounter an unscrupulous vendor, it will be difficult to distinguish the products simply by looking at the price.
