Which is more harmful to health, liquor or beer

Whether it is liquor or beer, it will cause certain harm to the body. Beer is more harmful to the kidneys, while liquor has a greater impact on the liver. Whether it is liquor or beer, it should be consumed in moderation, especially for patients with hepatitis, chronic gastritis, stones, etc., alcohol should be prohibited. Liquor and beer are harmful to your health. Even if you are in good health, you should exercise moderation when drinking. As the saying goes, a little wine can cheer you up, but too much can harm your body.

Liquor and beer are harmful to the body. Drinking beer, especially drinking a lot of beer, will increase the burden on the kidneys. In addition, beer has a diuretic effect. Drinking a lot can also cause excessive water metabolism in the body, causing thirst and drinking water, which is of course not good for the kidneys.

As for liquor, drinking too much will damage the liver. Long-term and large-scale drinking of liquor can easily cause alcoholic liver disease, which is of course not good for the liver.

Whether it is liquor or beer, drinking is prohibited. Of course, strong alcohol is more harmful to the body than low-alcohol alcohol.

Liquor and beer are harmful to the body - who should not drink alcohol?

1. People with hepatitis or other liver diseases should absolutely abstain from alcohol, even beer with a very low alcohol content, so as not to aggravate the condition. This is because alcohol can hinder the synthesis of liver glycogen, causing fat from surrounding tissues to enter the liver and promote the formation of fatty liver. At the same time, alcohol in the liver must first turn into acetaldehyde and then into acetic acid before it can continue to participate in the tricarboxylic acid cycle and be thoroughly metabolized. Finally, it will be oxidized into carbon dioxide and water, releasing energy. In people with hepatitis, the function of oxidizing acetaldehyde into acetic acid in the liver is reduced, which causes acetaldehyde to accumulate in the liver. Acetaldehyde is a toxic substance that can have a direct toxic effect on liver cells. Therefore, drinking alcohol will accelerate the deterioration of liver disease.

2. People with chronic gastritis cannot drink beer. Some special ingredients in beer can reduce or prevent the synthesis of prostaglandin E in the gastric mucosa, which gives gastric acid an opportunity to damage the gastric mucosa. Therefore, drinking beer frequently and in large quantities may induce gastritis. For those who have already suffered from chronic gastritis, since the gastric mucosa has been damaged, drinking more alcohol will further aggravate the damage to the gastric mucosa and worsen the condition.

3. People with urinary stones should not drink alcohol, especially beer. In the past, people often believed that beer had a diuretic effect and could prevent urinary stones. In fact, this is not the case. Medical experts from the University of Heidelberg in Germany discovered through research that the malt wort used to brew beer contains not only calcium and oxalic acid, but also guanylic acid, and these substances will aggravate the occurrence of urinary stones.

Experts point out that liquor and beer are harmful to the body. In addition to the above-mentioned people, people with gastric and duodenal ulcers, vascular diseases, obesity, liver and gallbladder diseases, epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease and other diseases must also abstain from alcohol to avoid aggravating their illness and causing greater harm to the body.
