Symptoms and preventive measures of prostatitis

Due to the influence of various factors such as work environment and eating habits, many men have symptoms of prostatitis. Because they cannot get effective treatment for a long time, male friends feel very painful. Prostatitis patients not only have frequent urination and urgency, but some may even affect men's sexual life and reproductive function. So how to prevent prostatitis if it has symptoms? Paying attention in all aspects can effectively avoid the occurrence of prostatitis.

What are the symptoms of prostatitis?

1. Abnormal urination: The symptoms include frequent urination, urgency, pain, and weakness, which are the main symptoms of prostatitis. Generally, the first symptom of prostatitis patients is frequent urination, that is, the frequency of urination increases, especially during the day. Later, as the disease progresses, urinary urgency may occur, and the patient often cannot wait to urinate as soon as he feels the urge. Pain when urinating often manifests as astringent pain in the urethra or burning pain in the posterior urethra at the end of urination. A characteristic of this pain is that it can be relieved by drinking more water and increasing urine volume, but it will be aggravated when urine volume decreases and urine turns yellow.

2. Neurasthenia: Neurasthenia is often manifested by frequent dreams, susceptibility to fright, confusion and depression. If other symptoms of chronic prostatitis are not obvious, it can easily be misdiagnosed as simple neurasthenia. In clinical practice, we have encountered many young and middle-aged male patients who had long-term neurasthenia and could not be cured. It was not until they developed sexual neurasthenia and sexual dysfunction that they came to the urology department for examination and received a clear diagnosis.

3. White discharge from the urethra: Symptoms of prostatitis include a small amount of white secretions overflowing from the urethra. Sometimes in the morning, the urethra opening is found to be stuck with white secretions. Sometimes white discharge may drip from the urethra before or after urination or when straining during bowel movements.

4. Urinary retention: Urinary retention is the inability to discharge urine from the bladder due to various reasons. There are two types of urinary retention: acute and chronic. When urination difficulties are caused by prostate disease, there will be varying degrees of urinary retention. It's called chronic urinary retention. At this time, the patient can still urinate. Once the patient is completely unable to excrete urine or the bladder is extremely distended, it is acute urinary retention. If urinary retention is not treated in time, it will affect kidney function and even cause uremia.

How to prevent prostatitis if it has symptoms ?

1. Avoid excessive drinking and eating large amounts of spicy food. Spicy food is not the direct cause of prostatitis, but spicy foods such as alcohol and chili peppers have a stimulating effect on the prostate and urethra. After consumption, short-term urethral discomfort or burning symptoms may occur during urination, and can cause vasodilation and edema of the prostate or reduce the resistance of the prostate. A light, regular diet can reduce prostate congestion.

2. Drink more water. Drinking more water will lead to more urination. Urine with high concentration will cause some stimulation to the prostate. Long-term adverse stimulation is harmful to the prostate. Drinking more water can not only dilute the blood, but also effectively dilute the concentration of urine.

3. Take a warm bath. Taking a warm bath can relieve tension in the muscles and prostate and alleviate discomfort symptoms. Taking a warm bath regularly is undoubtedly very beneficial for patients with prostate disease. If you use warm water to sit in the perineum 1-2 times a day, you can also get good results.

4. Don’t hold your urine. Once your bladder is full and you feel the urge to urinate, you should urinate. Holding urine is bad for your bladder and prostate. Before taking a long-distance bus, you should empty your bladder before boarding. If you have to urinate urgently during the journey, you should tell the driver and get off the bus to urinate. Never hold it in.

Through the above introduction, everyone should have a certain understanding of the symptoms of prostatitis and how to prevent it. Any disease has a cause, and effective prevention can avoid the disease.
