Is fetal heart rate 142 normal?

Is fetal heart rate 142 normal?

In order to understand a person's heart health, people often measure the heart rate. The same is true for the fetus in the mother's belly. In order to understand the vital characteristics of the fetus, medically, pregnant women need to do fetal heart monitoring regularly to understand whether the fetal heart rate is normal. It should be emphasized that fetal heart rate detection is a professional job, so you have to go to a regular hospital to do it. If the test result is a fetal heart rate of 142, it is considered a very good result and is completely within the normal range.

Is the fetal heart rate of 142 a boy or a girl?

The topic of whether to have a boy or a girl has always been a topic of particular interest to people. However, even if the doctor knows the gender of the fetus through B-ultrasound, he will not tell you. Therefore, there is a saying among the people that the gender of the fetus can be determined by the fetal heart rate. So, is a fetal heart rate of 142 a boy or a girl?

Is the fetal heart rate 142 a boy or a girl?

There is a folk saying that the gender of the fetus can be predicted based on the fetal heart rate. If the fetal heart rate is around 140 beats/minute during more than 5 prenatal examinations, especially below 140 beats/minute, it is a sign of a boy. If it is around 150 beats/minute, especially above 150 beats/minute, girls account for the majority.

However, it is not reliable to use the baby's fetal heart rate to determine the baby's gender. For adults, men's heart rate is generally lower than women's. However, the heart rate of baby girls is higher than that of baby boys, but this is only the case when they are just born. When they are still fetuses, there is no difference in the heart rate of male and female fetuses.

The speed of the fetal heart rate only varies with gestational age. At about 5 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus' heart rate is close to the mother's heart rate, which is 80-85 beats/minute. Then, during the 9th week of pregnancy, the heart rate gradually increases to 170-200 beats/minute. Then during the second trimester it gradually slows down to 120-160 beats/minute.

Fetal heart rate refers to the fetal heart rate regulated by the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves. By recording the instantaneous changes in the fetal heart rate through signals, we can understand the reaction of the fetal heart rate during fetal movement and uterine contraction, and infer whether the fetus in the uterus is suffering from hypoxia. The normal fetal heart rate is 120-160 beats per minute. If the fetal heart rate is above 160 beats per minute or lasts for 100 beats per minute, it indicates fetal intrauterine hypoxia and should be treated promptly. As for the statement that "a high fetal heart rate means a girl" is just a matter of probability. The sex of the fetus cannot be determined from the speed of the fetal heart rate.

Therefore, judging the gender of the baby by the fetal heart rate is not necessarily accurate. Even if it is accurate, it is only a low-probability event. Therefore, mothers should not worry too much about whether the baby's heartbeat is high or low, as long as the baby is healthy.
