How to prepare nutrient solution

We have all seen a lot of soilless cultivation, including soilless strawberries, soilless flowers, and various soilless vegetables. The growth of any kind of plant requires nutritional support, and soilless cultivation is no exception. No matter what kind of soilless cultivation, it actually relies on nutrient solution to maintain the normal nutrition of the plant. The nutrient solution is configured by itself. Depending on the variety of the plant, the combination of the nutrient solution is also different. How is the nutrient solution configured?

Bonsai soilless cultivation is a cultivation method in which bonsai plants are planted in certain inorganic substrates and regularly watered with nutrient solution. Compared with traditional soil cultivation, bonsai soilless cultivation has many advantages. Bonsai soilless cultivation can make bonsai plants grow fast and with high quality. Today, let’s share how to configure the nutrient solution needed for soilless cultivation.

Preparation method of nutrient solution

① Weigh various fertilizers separately and place them in clean containers or plastic film bags or on plastic film spread on the ground for later use.

② When mixing and dissolving fertilizers, strict attention must be paid to the order and Ca2+, SO42- and PO43- must be separated. That is, calcium nitrate cannot be mixed with fertilizers other than potassium nitrate, such as sulfates such as magnesium sulfate, diammonium phosphate, etc., to avoid calcium precipitation.

③The mother liquor can be divided into A, B or A, B, C storage tanks. Mix and dissolve calcium nitrate and potassium nitrate in tank A, or dissolve ferrous sulfate and Na2·EDTA in trace elements with calcium nitrate in tank A and tank B, mix and dissolve potassium nitrate, magnesium sulfate, diammonium phosphate and other trace elements, and some mix and dissolve all trace elements in tank C.

④ The order of dissolving fertilizers in tank A is to dissolve Na2·EDTA and ferrous sulfate in warm water first, then dissolve calcium nitrate, and stir while adding water until evenly dissolved. In tank B, dissolve magnesium sulfate first, and then add ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and potassium nitrate in turn, add water and stir until completely dissolved. Dissolve boric acid in warm water and add it, and then add the remaining trace element fertilizers separately. Add water to tanks A and B to a certain volume according to the concentration multiple of the mother liquor, stir well and set aside.

⑤ When using the nutrient solution, first take the mother solution in tank A and dissolve it in water, then take the mother solution in tank B, add water to dilute it to the standard stock solution according to the concentration multiple, inject it into the liquid supply tank (box), adjust the pH to the appropriate range, and measure the EC value (conductivity) before use.
