What are the side effects of acupuncture?

As we age, our organs and tissues decline, and many diseases will come one after another. Among them, osteoarthritis is relatively common. For osteoarthritis, drug treatment may not achieve the desired effect. Sometimes some patients need surgical treatment, while others may consider acupuncture knife treatment. However, acupuncture knife treatment has certain side effects, which you need to understand first.

Acupuncture knife therapy is a closed release technique between surgical methods and non-surgical treatments. It is formed on the basis of incisional surgery combined with acupuncture. The characteristic of its operation is to penetrate deep into the treatment area to the lesion and perform easy cutting, peeling and other different stimulations to achieve the purpose of relieving pain and curing diseases. The indications are mainly soft tissue injury lesions and bone and joint lesions.

The effect of micro-acupuncture is very fast and the effect can be said to be immediate, but because it is a surgery, it is also traumatic to the local area. After 1-2 months or longer, the pain recurs and returns to the original disease state, especially in areas with greater loads such as the cervical spine, shoulders, elbows, waist, etc.

Disadvantages and side effects of acupuncture :

1. The disease is prone to recurrence, and the patient's habitual life, walking posture, working posture, etc. cause recurrence; the surgery relieves local adhesions, but the postoperative wound surface causes adhesions due to lack of local movement; the local area is invaded by wind, cold, and dampness again. Therefore, we should pay special attention to our daily life.

2. Since the acupuncture knife therapy is performed under non-direct vision, if you are not familiar with the human anatomy, especially the local anatomy, and use improper techniques, it is easy to cause injuries.

3. The acupoints must be selected accurately. That is, when choosing Ashi points as treatment points, the center of the pain point must be found and the needle must be inserted vertically (the needle insertion method can be flexibly selected for non-painful points). If the needle is inserted at an angle, it is easy to deviate from the lesion site in the deep and damage non-lesion tissues.

4. Bleeding and adhesion are likely to occur after surgery.

5. The price of acupuncture knife treatment is quite expensive, generally ranging from one thousand to three thousand yuan.
