I feel weak after waking up from a nap

Some people are full of energy when they wake up in the morning, but often feel very tired when they go to bed at noon. First of all, this is related to the season. For example, in summer or autumn, people are more likely to feel sleepy. If they cannot wake up during sleep, they will feel tired and prone to dizziness, headache, and blurred vision.

Why do I feel sleepier the more I take a nap?

It is easy to feel sleepy in the hot summer, so most people like to take a nap to make up for their sleep time. Studies have shown that taking a nap is the most efficient type of sleep. It not only keeps the brain awake, but also greatly improves work efficiency after a nap.

But at the same time, we also deeply understand that if the lunch break is too long, we will feel more and more sleepy. At this time, if you force yourself to get up, you will feel dizzy and uncomfortable all over. You will not be able to concentrate for a long time after getting up, and your work and study efficiency will be greatly reduced.

Why is this?

It turns out that most people will enter the deep sleep stage from light sleep after falling asleep for more than 30 minutes. At this time, the inhibition process of various central nervous systems in the brain deepens, many capillaries in the brain tissue are temporarily closed, and the blood flow through the brain tissue is relatively reduced.

If you wake up at this time, because the suppressed cerebral cortex has not been released and the closed capillaries have not been opened, there will be a temporary relative lack of blood supply to the brain, causing temporary autonomic nervous dysfunction, and you will feel uncomfortable all over and become more sleepy. This symptom may take as short as ten minutes or as long as half an hour to disappear.

Therefore, the lunch break in summer should not be too long, about 10 to 30 minutes is appropriate. This not only improves work efficiency, but also effectively prevents coronary heart disease. Studies have shown that taking a 30-minute nap every day can make the hormone secretion in the body more balanced and significantly reduce the incidence of coronary heart disease.
