Nowadays, more and more young people are suffering from osteosarcoma of varying degrees, which brings great pain and trouble to patients' daily lives. If some osteosarcoma patients are discovered early and receive effective treatment early, I believe they will soon get rid of this pain. In order to make more people better understand and pay attention to the symptoms of osteosarcoma, today I will talk with you about the symptoms of osteosarcoma. The course of disease for patients with osteosarcoma varies, from the onset of symptoms to several days to several years, with an average of 3 to 4 months. The most common site is around the knee joint. The earliest clinical symptom is pain, which is mostly dull and persistent. The pain worsens after activity and is more obvious at night. A lump appears in the affected area, and the growth rate of the lump is often measured in months. When the lump increases significantly, reactive effusion may occur in the adjacent joint, and joint movement is limited. Early pain often occurs suddenly after a minor injury. The swelling is mild at first, and then gradually worsens, presenting as an eccentric fusiform swelling. The hardness of the lump varies, depending on the texture of the tumor. Osteolytic lesions are softer than osteoblasts. The skin of the affected area is shiny, the surface veins are dilated, and the skin temperature is increased. If the tumor is large and adjacent to the joint, it may affect joint function. Some patients have metastases to other parts of the body when they seek medical treatment. 1. Pain Pain of varying degrees at the tumor site is a very common and obvious symptom of osteosarcoma, caused by the expansion of the tumor tissue destroying the bone cortex and stimulating the periosteal nerve endings. The pain may develop from intermittent in the early stage to continuous after a few weeks, and the degree of pain may increase. Pain in the lower limbs may cause pain-avoiding claudication 2. Lumps As the disease progresses, local swelling may occur. Lumps may be touched at the painful part of the limbs, accompanied by obvious tenderness. If the lump grows rapidly, the lump can be found from the appearance. The skin temperature of the lump surface increases and the superficial veins are exposed. The surface of the lump and the nearby soft tissues may have varying degrees of tenderness. The hardness of the lump varies due to different degrees of ossification. The enlargement of the lump causes limited joint movement and muscle atrophy. 3. Lameness is pain-avoiding claudication caused by limb pain, which worsens as the disease progresses. Patients with long-term illness may experience limited joint movement and muscle atrophy. 4. General condition: When the diagnosis is clear, the general condition is generally poor, manifested by fever, malaise, weight loss, anemia and even exhaustion. In some cases, the tumor grows very fast and metastasizes to the lungs at an early stage, causing the general condition to deteriorate. Pathological fractures at the tumor site make the symptoms more obvious. After the onset of osteosarcoma, it will first affect the patient's normal walking ability, and then induce many systemic symptoms, which will greatly affect the patient's normal life. Therefore, for osteosarcoma, when you are sick in life, you should respond to treatment as soon as possible to avoid further aggravation of the disease. |
