What does placenta grade 3 reduction mean

What does placenta grade 3 reduction mean

Stage III placenta reduction is an indication of a woman's late pregnancy. If a pregnant woman has stage III placenta in the late pregnancy, it means that the placenta has aged and she needs to give birth in time. Long-term placental aging will have a great impact on the fetus, which can easily affect the fetus's normal absorption of nutrients and lead to life-threatening situations. Therefore, she needs to have a timely prenatal check-up before giving birth, and she also needs to observe the fetus's condition at any time.

What does placenta grade 3 reduction mean?

Placenta grade 3 indicates that the placenta has aged. Due to calcification and cellulose deposition, the placenta's ability to transport oxygen and nutrients is reduced, and the fetus may be in danger at any time. The maturity of the placenta is different for each person. In the second trimester (12–28 weeks), the placenta is grade 0, in the third trimester (30–32 weeks), the placenta is grade 1, and after 36 weeks, the placenta is grade 2. If a grade 3 placenta is detected before 37 weeks and the biparietal diameter is combined, and the fetal weight is estimated to be 2500g, placental precocity should be considered and the possibility of intrauterine growth retardation should be noted. If the placenta enters stage three at 38 weeks of pregnancy, it indicates that the placenta is mature.

After a pregnant woman becomes pregnant, the fetus grows day by day and the placenta becomes more and more mature, first it is the first-level placenta, then the second-level placenta, and when it becomes the third-level placenta, it is almost time for delivery. However, after the third-grade placenta, some pregnant women do not know how long it will take for them to give birth. So how long can the third-grade placenta generally last?

There are four levels of placental maturity: 0, 1, 2, and 3. Level 1 indicates that the placenta is basically mature, level 2 indicates that the placenta is mature, and level 3 indicates that the placenta is aged. Due to calcification and cellulose deposition, the placenta's ability to distribute oxygen and nutrients is reduced, and the fetus is in danger at any time. The placenta is generally mature when it develops to 3 degrees. The placenta goes through primary, secondary and tertiary stages throughout its development. When you reach level three, you are ready to have children. Placental maturity level 3 is a bit old, but it is okay. The ultrasound shows that the fetus is mature, but it is not certain whether it is time to deliver. Delivery may occur at any time. If it is full-term, just listen to the doctor's advice.

If a grade III placenta is found before 37 weeks and combined with the value of the biparietal diameter and the estimated fetal weight of 2500 grams, placental precocity should be considered and the patient should be alert to the possibility of intrauterine growth retardation. At 38 weeks, the placenta enters grade III, indicating that the placenta is mature. Placental maturity is the degree of maturity of the placenta. The normal thickness of the placenta should be between 25 and 50 millimeters. According to the changes in the chorion, placental light spots and basement membrane, the placental maturity is divided into four levels: 0, Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ. It does not mean that the more mature the placenta is, the better. Instead, it is better if the maturity level is corresponding to the stage of pregnancy. On the contrary, if the placenta is precocious, we need to be alert to the possibility of intrauterine growth retardation of the fetus.
