Is it reliable to remove formaldehyde by air conditioning heating

Newly renovated houses will have formaldehyde pollution, which is also a headache for everyone. As we all know, formaldehyde pollution is very harmful to our body. Therefore, newly renovated houses are not suitable for immediate living. Formaldehyde pollution must be completely released. Generally, we will take long-term window ventilation, activated carbon, air purifiers to remove formaldehyde, or ask professional companies to remove formaldehyde. But have you heard that air conditioning heating can remove formaldehyde? Some people say that air conditioning heating to remove formaldehyde is more of a gimmick of merchants. Consumers must make rational purchases and have their own opinions. Don't be swayed by merchants. To remove formaldehyde, you should still choose formal methods. If you are not sure, you can hand it over to a professional company to deal with the formaldehyde in your home.

Air conditioning is taking advantage of formaldehyde?

In the face of formaldehyde pollution, the commonly used methods to remove formaldehyde are long-term room ventilation, activated carbon, photocatalyst spraying or air purifiers. However, none of these can quickly and effectively remove formaldehyde, making formaldehyde pollution a serious threat to our health.

For this reason, consumers have been looking for better and more effective ways to remove formaldehyde, which has given manufacturers an opportunity, so some manufacturers have worked hard on formaldehyde removal functions. A few years ago, some air conditioners made "breakthroughs" in formaldehyde removal and launched formaldehyde-removing air conditioners, which were advertised as a new formaldehyde-removing weapon. So, can air conditioning remove formaldehyde?

What is the principle of formaldehyde removal by air conditioners?

The so-called formaldehyde removal from air conditioners mainly involves installing RCD formaldehyde decomposition technology and modular integration technology inside the air conditioner. Among them, RCD (room temperature catalytic decomposition) is a new formaldehyde purification technology that has emerged in recent years. Its characteristic is that it uses RCD catalysts to utilize the heat in the air at room temperature or even below room temperature to catalytically oxidize formaldehyde into water and carbon dioxide through oxygen in the polluted air in a long-term and stable manner. At the same time, the modular integration technology adopted can perfectly integrate the formaldehyde removal function with the air conditioner. It does not take up space and does not need to be installed separately. Formaldehyde can be removed during the use of the air conditioner.

From the perspective of the principle of air conditioning to remove formaldehyde, everything seems so beautiful, but is it really reliable to use air conditioning to remove formaldehyde?

This brings us to the "Comparative Test Report on the Intelligent Comprehensive Performance of Air Conditioning Products" released by the Guangdong Provincial Consumer Council mentioned at the beginning, and this report gave an unexpected result. This time, the Consumer Council staff selected and purchased 12 air conditioners from domestic online and offline sources, and commissioned a third-party testing agency to conduct professional testing.

According to the report, after comparative analysis, it was found that the filters that come with air conditioners at the factory cannot remove gaseous pollutants. Some air conditioner products that claim to have formaldehyde removal functions mainly implement this function by configuring formaldehyde removal modules, which contain granular substances to remove formaldehyde. However, after comparing and analyzing the test results, it was found that the current "formaldehyde removal" technology of air-conditioning products is not mature. This function is probably still in the promotional stage and has no substantial effect.

How to remove formaldehyde normally?

As the saying goes, every profession has its own specialization. Only by delving deeply into the fields you are familiar with can you accumulate potential energy and establish technological advantages. As for formaldehyde removal, until there is a truly effective technology that is certified by professional organizations, we should leave it to professional companies to solve. Of course, you can also remove formaldehyde through some conventional methods, such as long-term ventilation of the room, activated carbon formaldehyde removal and air purifiers. However, it should be noted that when removing formaldehyde through such conventional methods, you must choose some normal and scientific methods to detect the formaldehyde content in the room and ensure that the indoor formaldehyde content is within a normal range for a period of time before you can move in.
