Shrimp is a swimming animal of the subphylum Crustacea, order Decapoda, and there are nearly 2,000 species, most of which live in rivers and lakes. They all have beards, hooked noses, arched backs with segments, and hard scales on their tails. Most of them are good at jumping. Many species are important foods. The size ranges from several meters to several millimeters, with an average of 4 to 8 centimeters. Those that are large are called prawns. It can swim backwards quickly by bending its abdomen and tail. They eat tiny organisms and some eat carrion. Female shrimp can lay 1,500 to 14,000 eggs, which are attached to the swimming limbs. It goes through five developmental stages before reaching adulthood. Its seeds are outside the belly, taste very delicious, and people like to eat them. The shrimp body is long and flat, with a calcareous exoskeleton divided into two parts: the head and thorax and the abdomen. The head and thorax are covered by a carapace. The abdomen consists of 7 segments. At the front end of the cephalothorax there is a long, serrated frontal sword and a pair of rotatable compound eyes with stalks. Shrimp breathe through gills, which are located on both sides of the head and thorax and covered by a crustacean. The shrimp's mouth is at the bottom of the cephalothorax. There are two pairs of antennae on the cephalothorax, which are responsible for the sense of smell, touch and balance, and there is also a chewing apparatus consisting of large and small jaws. The cephalothorax also has three pairs of maxillopods to help hold food, and five pairs of walking legs, which are mainly used for hunting and crawling. There are five pairs of swimming limbs and a pair of short tail limbs on the abdomen. The tail limb and the last segment of the abdomen form the tail fan, which can control the swimming direction of the shrimp. The movement organs of shrimp are very underdeveloped. Usually they can only crawl slowly on the seabed. They can also swim short distances by flexing and extending their abdomen. Freshwater shrimp is warm in nature, sweet in taste, and slightly warm.
