Oral health is an issue that people cannot ignore, because oral health is the first gateway to the entire body. The saying "diseases enter through the mouth" reflects its importance. When there is disease in the body, it will first manifest itself in the mouth. Some people have serious gastrointestinal problems, which can cause bad breath and so on. Some people also have white damage on the roof of their mouth. The area of the damage is not large, but the pain is very intense, and the affected area is covered with a white substance. Let’s take a look at what the white damage on the roof of the mouth is. I hope people who have similar symptoms can understand the cause. White lesions on the roof of the mouth are a manifestation of oral ulcers, which is the most common oral mucosal disease. The prevalence in the population is generally believed to be over 10%. It can occur in both sexes, young and old, but is most common in young and middle-aged people. 95% of ulcers that appear in the mouth are recurrent oral ulcers (commonly known as aphthous ulcers), which are one of the most common oral mucosal diseases. (I) Immunological abnormalities: Patients with oral ulcers show decreased CD4, reduced CD4/CD8 ratio, and lower lymphocyte transformation rate than normal people. The levels of IgA and IgG in the serum of patients with recurrent oral ulcers were slightly increased, while IgM was decreased. Direct immunofluorescence examination of the biopsy marks showed the presence of IgG and IgM antibodies around the blood vessels. Oral ulcers are mostly spontaneous, recurrent, and can resolve on their own. They have a genetic tendency. The diseased tissue has obvious infiltration of lymphocytes and plasma cells. The use of corticosteroids can relieve symptoms. (ii) Infectious factors: Some people have suggested that streptococci and several viruses play a pathogenic role in the onset of recurrent oral ulcers. (III) Genetic factors: Recurrent oral ulcers have a clear familial genetic tendency. (IV) Mental factors: This is one of the important causes of disease in modern people. (V) Digestive system diseases and functional disorders: It is suspected that digestive system diseases and oral ulcers have common pathogens because the digestive system and the oral cavity are closely related. Whether oral ulcers occur before or after the onset of digestive system diseases remains to be studied. It may also be related to food reflux. In addition, oral ulcers can be treated with pathogenic bacteria of digestive system diseases, such as Helicobacter pylori, which can achieve good results. (six) Nutritional factors: Oral ulcer patients should have iron, folic acid, zinc and vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, etc. |
