Joint diseases have become a common disease among middle-aged and elderly people, most of which occur in middle-aged and elderly people over 50 years old. Not only will it affect the patient's joints, but it will also affect work and life. Degenerative lesions of both knee joints will cause patients to be unable to walk, and may even be accompanied by long-term joint soreness and swelling, and joint stiffness after getting up in the morning. For these problems, you must observe them in time and use appropriate methods. This is very important. Degenerative knee arthritis Degenerative knee arthritis is a common disease among the elderly, and is more common in middle-aged and elderly people over 50 years old. The disease often causes bone hyperplasia in the knee joint, which seriously affects work and life. The main clinical manifestations of degenerative knee arthritis are joint soreness, swelling, pain or obvious stiffness in the morning, which improves with a little activity and is obvious after standing for a long time or squatting. Weakness in the knees when going downstairs, sometimes accompanied by swelling and effusion of the joints. The second symptom is limited joint movement. The first symptom is limited extension, which gradually leads to difficulty in bending the knee or difficulty in standing up after sitting or squatting. Later it develops into persistent pain and joint movement becomes increasingly restricted. In addition, worn cartilage fragments fall off and form loose bodies (also known as joint mice). When loose bodies are squeezed between the joint surfaces, locking of the joint may occur, accompanied by severe pain. If effective treatment is not carried out in the early stages and the disease continues to develop into muscle atrophy and joint deformities, surgery will be the only option. The third type is manifested as gradually increasing joint pain. Some patients experience "resting pain" or "rest pain", that is, joint pain and limited flexion and extension when resting at night; some experience joints that have been in a certain position for too long, or when getting up in the early morning, the patient feels joint pain, which is relieved after a little movement, but will recur if there is too much movement; or the patient feels that the affected joint is not very flexible. After resting, you cannot move immediately, the joints become stiff, and you need to move for a period of time before you feel comfortable. When the joints move, you can hear various sounds caused by the friction between the joint surfaces, such as creaking or clicking. Some symptoms include pain and difficulty going up and down stairs. Severe patients experience difficulty in flexion and extension, swollen and fluid-filled joints, and may even be unable to walk. For example: the pain is severe when you stand up after sitting for a long time, and gradually decreases after walking a few steps. |
