Herpes is a common infectious skin disease. 1. HSV infection is common among the population, and humans are the natural host of the herpes virus.

The main sources of infection are genital herpes patients and asymptomatic virus carriers. When tracing the sources of infection among men, nearly half were attributed to prostitution, and the rest came from sexual abusers who engaged in various types of unclean sexual behaviors. People with genital herpes are infected through sexual contact with their sex partners, who are usually unaware that they have genital herpes. This is one reason why genital herpes is so widespread.

2. HSV-1 is often transmitted through droplets and saliva, while HSV-2 is almost always transmitted through sexual contact.

The main route of transmission is sexual contact with people with genital herpes, but asymptomatic carriers with a history of herpes are also sources of infection. In adults, the positive rate of genital herpes virus antibodies is relatively high, generally about 10-70%, which mainly varies with socioeconomic status and sexual life. A survey showed that the rate of vaginal genital herpes virus excretion in women with lower socioeconomic status was 0.4-1.33%. When someone conducted a reproductive tract examination on a group of prostitutes, it was found that the excretion rate of genital herpes virus was as high as 12%, and 70% of the prostitutes were carriers of the genital herpes virus. It can be seen that the occurrence of genital herpes is clearly related to sexual contact. The disease is highly contagious. About 60-80% of women who have one-time contact with men with penile herpes may be infected.

Other data show that kissing an HVS-2 carrier when one's own immunity is poor can also easily lead to infection with genital herpes. Contact with contaminated objects can also cause infection, such as using contaminated bedding in hotels, taking baths in tubs, saunas, hot springs, etc., which can also easily lead to genital herpes infection.
