Thalassemia is a hereditary disease. Severe thalassemia can be life-threatening. It is a symptom caused by a decrease in red blood cells in the body. It can easily cause the body to suffer from multiple diseases and poor resistance. In addition to drug treatment, it can be treated through diet. You can eat more foods rich in iron. How to replenish blood for thalassemia There is no need to take "blood-replenishing medicine" for general mild anemia. There are many causes of anemia, iron deficiency is one of the most common causes. For some patients with mild anemia, they can correct the condition by adding some iron-containing supplementary foods to their food without having to take blood-enriching medicines. Diet therapy for thalassemia : 1. Oolong jujube soup. Take 50 grams of jujube, 20 grams of longan meat, 15 grams of Amomum villosum, and 1 black-bone chicken. Add appropriate amount of water, add oil and salt to taste, simmer for 2 hours, eat the meat and drink the soup. 2. Cordyceps chicken. Use 30 grams each of Cordyceps sinensis and Coix seeds, 10 grams of Chinese angelica, and 1 black chicken. Add appropriate amount of water, add oil and salt to taste, simmer for 2 hours, eat the meat and drink the soup. 3. Donkey-hide gelatin and jujube porridge. Take 50 grams of glutinous rice, 10 grams of donkey-hide gelatin, 8 dates, and an appropriate amount of white sugar. Crush the donkey-hide gelatin; cook the washed glutinous rice and jujube into porridge, add the donkey-hide gelatin and white sugar when it is almost cooked, and cook for a while. 4. Add flavor to mutton bone porridge. Take 750 grams of sheep bones, 50 grams of polished rice, 20 grams of astragalus, and 7 dates. Wash and crush the sheep bones, put them into a casserole together with astragalus and jujube, boil with appropriate amount of water, use the soup instead of water and cook it with washed rice into porridge. When the porridge is almost cooked, add appropriate amount of ginger, scallion and salt, stir well, and cook for a while. It is recommended to take it warm on an empty stomach, and one course of treatment is 15 days. 5. Peanut and beef tendon porridge. Use 100 grams of glutinous rice, 80 grams each of peanuts and beef tendon. Wash the tendons, cut them into small pieces, put them into a casserole with peanuts and washed glutinous rice, add appropriate amount of water and cook porridge until the tendons are cooked and the rice is boiled. It is best to take it warm on an empty stomach, once a day. What is Thalassemia Major? This is a genetic disease. Severe thalassemia can be life-threatening. There is currently no effective treatment and regular blood transfusions may be required. If anemia is not very serious, the symptoms of anemia can be changed by adjusting the diet. Severe thalassemia requires hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, which is expensive and risky, but if successful it can free patients with severe anemia from their dependence on blood transfusions and prevent further iron deposition. Without hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, patients can only rely on blood transfusions and long-term use of iron-removing agents to maintain life, and use iron-removing agents at the same time. Even so, with long-term blood transfusions, more and more iron will be deposited in organs such as the liver and spleen, causing these organs to fail and leading to the patient's death. In addition, hematopoietic liver cell transplantation also carries considerable risks. Thalassemia, also known as sea anemia, is a group of hereditary diseases and the most common incomplete dominant chronic hemolytic anemia in the population. The pathogenesis is that the globin chains that synthesize hemoglobin are reduced or missing, resulting in abnormal hemoglobin structure. Red blood cells containing abnormal hemoglobin have reduced deformability and shortened lifespan. They can be destroyed prematurely by the liver, spleen, etc. of the human body, leading to anemia and even developmental abnormalities. This disease is medically known as hemolytic anemia. Thalassemia is a "preventable but difficult to treat" genetic disease. If you can clearly understand your genetic background before marriage and do a good job of thalassemia screening and diagnosis before birth, you can effectively minimize the chances of the next generation suffering from severe thalassemia. |
