2. 4. When acute otitis media causes bacterial infection in the middle ear cavity, the pus continues to increase and directly compresses the pain-sensitive eardrum, causing intermittent pain in the ear, which may be throbbing pain.

5. Ear herpes is related to viral infection and is more common on the auricle. The ear pain it causes is like a needle prick or burning. A few people may also have facial nerve paralysis, hearing loss, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms.
