What foods contain vitamin D? You can eat more of these foods

In order to enable their children to grow up healthier, many parents advise their children to eat more foods containing vitamin D. Among the many foods, which foods contain more vitamin D? Many parents may not know that, in addition to food, sufficient sunlight can also help the human body synthesize vitamin D.

1. Fish

Fish is a food rich in vitamin D, so if we usually supplement vitamin D, we can take in an appropriate amount of vitamin D through fresh fish. We can also get vitamin D from canned fish. Canned tuna and sardines both contain vitamin D, and it is more convenient to eat.

2. Shrimp

Shrimp is also rich in vitamin D, high in protein, but low in fat and calories.

3. Beef liver

Cooked beef liver contains about 50 international units of vitamin D and some other nutrients, including a small amount of vitamin A, iron and protein. Due to the high cholesterol content of beef liver, it is only suitable for consumption in moderation.

4. Cod liver oil

Cod liver oil is also a food rich in vitamins. It is extracted from the livers of non-toxic animals such as sharks and marine fish. The vitamin A content in each gram is more than 90% of the recommended daily intake; the vitamin D content is 85% of the recommended daily intake. One tablespoon of cod liver oil contains more than twice the recommended daily intake of vitamin D.

5. Mushrooms

Studies have found that mushrooms can also synthesize vitamin D on their own because ultraviolet rays stimulate the production of vitamin D. However, mushrooms with short sunshine hours have limited vitamin D content, so you should choose the specific type of mushroom you want to eat.

6. Eggs

The vitamin D in eggs is mainly found in the yolk, and eating eggs every day can also supplement vitamin D. However, the cholesterol content in an egg is also high, so it is necessary to eat eggs in moderation and in an appropriate amount to benefit heart health.
