There is mucus in the urethra in the morning, what's going on

Many men may find sticky stuff at the urethral opening when they wake up in the morning, and feel very worried about it, wondering if they have a male health disease. In fact, these situations are normal, and people don’t need to worry too much about it. The mucus secreted from the urethral opening in the morning is prostate fluid, and men just need to pay attention to good hygiene in their daily lives.

1. The white secretion dripping from the urethra is prostatic fluid, not semen. Excessive drinking, cold, abnormal sex/life, frequent sexual impulses and long-distance cycling can all lead to prostate congestion and blood stasis. Chronic prostatitis patients may frequently have a small amount of white liquid flowing out of the urethra in the morning, at the end of urination or when defecating, due to prostate congestion, swelling and increased secretion. This is called prostatic discharge, also known as white drip.

2. Before and after urination and when defecating, a small amount of sticky milky white secretion flows out of the urethra. Most of it is prostatic fluid, which may also be mixed with a small amount of secretion from the bulbourethral glands.

3. Mucous secretions from the urethral orifice are often seen in nonspecific urethritis, fungal urethritis, mycoplasma, chlamydia, gonorrhea, Trichomonas or specific urethritis caused by viruses, prostatitis, prostatic fistula, urethral bulbitis, etc. Yellow viscous secretions appear at the urethral orifice, which is called urethral purulent secretions. It is mainly caused by purulent infection of the urethra, which is common in prostatitis, tuberculous urethritis, gonococcal urethritis, and secondary infections such as urethral stones, foreign bodies, tumors, injuries, stenosis, valves, etc., and also see masturbation, etc. Please seek medical attention as soon as possible to avoid delaying the disease. Take more rest and avoid fatigue. Drink more water and eat more fruits and vegetables. Avoid or eat less spicy and irritating food.

4. When a man is subjected to physical or psychological sexual stimulation, one or several drops of clear secretion will often flow out of the urethra. This is neither semen nor prostatic fluid, but a normal physiological reaction of the human body. Most of the secretions that flow out are secretions of the paraurethral glands. It turns out that there is a gland called paraurethral gland in the human penis. When the penis is erect due to sexual excitement, the congested corpus cavernosum compresses the paraurethral gland, causing its secretions to flow out of the urethra opening, lubricating the glans and preparing for sexual intercourse.
