What are the typical clinical manifestations of angina pectoris?

Angina pectoris occurs in many people and has an impact on the patient's physical health. Common symptoms include chest tightness, tightness, and burning sensations, and sometimes even needle-like pain.

1. The location is mainly behind the upper or middle part of the sternum, and may affect the precordial area, with unclear boundaries. It often radiates to the left shoulder, the inner side of the left arm to the ring finger and little finger, or to the neck, pharynx or mandible.

2. Nature of chest pain: It is often oppressive, stuffy or tight, and may also be burning, but not sharp, not like needle or knife-like pain. Occasionally accompanied by a fear of dying, the patient often unconsciously stops the original activity until the symptoms are relieved.

3. Trigger attacks are often triggered by physical labor or emotional excitement (such as anger, anxiety, over-excitement, etc.). They can also be triggered by overeating, cold, smoking, tachycardia, shock, etc. The pain occurs at the time of exertion or excitement, not at the end of a hard day. Typical angina pectoris often occurs under similar conditions. But sometimes the same exertion causes angina pectoris only in the morning and not in the afternoon, suggesting that it is related to the lower pain threshold in the morning.

4. Duration: After the pain appears, it often gradually worsens and then gradually disappears within 3-5 minutes. It usually eases after stopping the activity that originally induced the symptoms. Sublingual nitroglycerin can also provide relief within minutes. It may occur once every few days or weeks, or multiple times in a day.
