What is eye twitching? Common causes of nystagmus

Eye tremor is also called nystagmus in clinical practice. This kind of eye tremor is unconscious and has congenital and acquired causes. The tremor symptoms experienced by patients include beating type and swinging type. Pay attention to treatment and pay attention to your daily diet, eat more foods high in vitamin B content.

1. Pathological causes

1. Ocular nystagmus refers to the nystagmus caused by central vision impairment in the macula, which makes it difficult to form the gaze reflex.

(1) Physiological gaze nystagmus includes oblique nystagmus, visual dynamic nystagmus and latent nystagmus.

(2) Pathological fixation nystagmus includes blinding nystagmus, amblyopic nystagmus, occupational nystagmus, etc.

2. Vestibular nystagmus

3. Central nystagmus

4. Congenital idiopathic nystagmus

2. Symptoms and Signs

1. Jumping type: The eyeballs move back and forth at obviously different speeds. After slowly turning to one direction to a certain extent, they suddenly return with a quick jump movement. Therefore, this type of tremor has chronic and rapid phases. The chronic phase is the physiological phase, and the rapid phase is the corrective movement of the slow phase. The direction of the rapid phase is the direction of the nystagmus, and the rapid phase is related to the cause of the disease.

2. Swinging type: The eyeball swings like a pendulum, without fast and slow phases, and its speed and amplitude are equal. It is more common in patients with amaurosis and amblyopia.

3. Diet and health care

Nutritional intake should be unbalanced: do not be picky eaters and pay special attention to the intake of B vitamins (germ rice, oatmeal yeast). You can eat more foods containing vitamin A, such as shepherd's purse, mustard greens, bitter gourd, carrots, Torreya grandis nuts, figs, animal liver, herring, white fish, clam meat, and snails. In our daily diet, some vegetables are very beneficial to the maintenance of our eyes and other physiological functions. Such as spinach, tomatoes, carrots and so on.
