Facial paralysis is a kind of movement dysfunction clinically. There are many ways to treat facial paralysis, and drug therapy can generally be used. Facial paralysis can also be treated with acupuncture. Acupuncture is generally used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat facial paralysis, and the effect of acupuncture in treating facial paralysis is also very obvious. 1. Chinese medicine believes that facial paralysis is caused by wind-cold or wind-heat evil invading the Yangming and Shaoyang meridians, which leads to obstruction of the meridians, slow movement of meridian qi, and sluggish muscle movement. Therefore, acupuncture can be used to dredge the meridians, activate blood circulation and dispel wind to treat facial paralysis. In the early stage of treatment of facial paralysis, the needle is used for drainage; in the later stage of treatment, the needle is used for tonification. The acupoints are mainly the hand and foot yangming meridians, and the foot taiyang meridian points are supplementary. Acupuncture therapy requires multiple courses of treatment. 2. Facial paralysis usually has an acute onset, often when getting up in the morning, or when washing and looking in the mirror, it is found that one side of the face is stiff, the eyes are not fully closed, the forehead wrinkles disappear, the corners of the mouth are crooked, the nasolabial grooves become shallow or crooked, water leaks when rinsing the mouth, and air leaks when talking. Food is often retained between the teeth and cheeks on the affected side during meals. The patient is unable to frown, frown, show teeth, puff out cheeks, whistle, etc. A few patients have pain and tenderness behind and under the ear at the beginning. Acupuncture is very effective in treating this disease, and the earlier the treatment is started, the better the effect. Some people believe that acupuncture is not suitable for this disease during the initial acute stage. This is actually a misunderstanding. The key lies in the selection of acupoints and the technique. 3. Acupuncture therapy Acupoints: Yifeng, Qianzheng, Dicang, Jiache, Sizhukong and Hegu. If the nasolabial groove is flat, add Yingxiang; if the chin-labial groove is crooked, add Jiachengjiang; if the tongue is numb and the sense of taste is lost, add Lianquan. Treatment method: combining distant and nearby acupoints, and equal tonification and purgation. Operation: Needle insertion should be shallow or thorough, once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment, and rest for 3 days. |
