What are the factors that cause muscle spasms

In fact, muscle cramps are what we usually call cramps. There are various reasons for this problem. The most common one is cold stimulation. Especially in a cold water and cold air environment, it is easy to cause muscle cramps when exercising.

1. Cold stimulation: If you do not do enough warm-up exercises when exercising in an environment with cold water or cold air, muscle cramps are likely to occur.

2. Electrolyte imbalance, especially sweating during exercise in the summer, can cause electrolyte imbalance in the body and cause muscle cramps.

3. Muscle contraction disorder or damage. If the muscles are not relaxed enough due to continuous contractions that are too fast, spasms may occur. Or if the muscles are repeatedly micro-damaged during exercise, protective tonic contractions may occur.

4. Strengthen exercise, improve adaptability, and do adequate warm-up before exercise, especially when exercising in a cold environment. Massage the muscles that are prone to spasms appropriately.

5. Pay attention to keeping warm in winter. Do not stay in the water for too long when swimming in winter. When swimming in summer, if the water temperature is low, the swimming time should not be too long.

6. We sweat a lot in summer, so make sure to drink some salt water to replenish lost electrolytes.

7. When you are tired, you should avoid strenuous exercise for a long time. A cramp is a severe, painful muscle contraction (spasm) that usually occurs suddenly and violently but does not last long, only a few minutes. The muscles are painful, stiff and tense to the touch, and muscle lumps or deformities may be visible to the naked eye in the affected areas.

8. Calcium deficiency in the blood can also cause recurrent or long-term muscle cramps. It may help to massage or stretch the affected muscles to relieve your child's pain. Repeat the stretching until the symptoms are relieved. If the pain persists after the cramps have subsided, you can apply a hot water bottle or towel locally, or take a hot bath. You can also use paracetamol or ibufen.
