What are the signs of heart disease

The number of heart disease patients is increasing day by day, which has a serious impact on patients because the mortality rate of heart disease is relatively high. What are the signs of heart disease? For example, cough, chest tightness, dizziness, difficulty breathing, etc. If you feel any discomfort in your heart, you should seek medical attention immediately.

1. Anxiety

A heart attack may be preceded by intense anxiety or fear of death, which may manifest as a sense of "impending disaster."

2. Chest discomfort

Chest tightness and chest pain are the main clinical manifestations of heart disease, but they are not specific clinical manifestations. Chest discomfort is not necessarily related to heart disease.

3. Cough

A persistent cough or wheezing may be the result of congestion in the lungs or a symptom of heart failure.

4. Dizziness

Because the heart's pumping function slows, blood flow to the brain decreases. Heart disease can cause dizziness and even loss of consciousness.

5. Fatigue

Unusual fatigue, especially in women, that lasts for a long time may be a sign of heart failure. It is mainly because the heart pumps less blood, resulting in reduced blood supply to tissues and organs throughout the body (including skeletal muscles). Of course, real tiredness or fatigue caused by other reasons should also be ruled out.

6. Nausea or loss of appetite

When heart function is impaired, the gastrointestinal tract blood supply is insufficient and/or the venous blood return is poor. Symptoms such as stomach discomfort and decreased appetite may be caused by heart disease. Some angina pectoris and myocardial infarction may manifest as "stomach pain".

7. Pain in other parts of the body

In many heart attacks, pain begins in the chest and spreads to the shoulders, arms, elbows, back, neck, jaw, or abdomen. Sometimes there is no chest pain, just pain in these body parts. The pain may not be localized. In men, it often manifests as pain in the left arm. Women are more likely to experience pain in the arms or between the shoulder blades. In addition, toothache caused by walking (especially uphill) is a typical sign of heart disease but is often overlooked.

8. Rapid or irregular pulse

A rapid or irregular pulse, especially if accompanied by fatigue, dizziness, or shortness of breath, may be evidence of heart failure or an abnormal heart rhythm. If not treated promptly, some arrhythmias can lead to stroke, heart failure or sudden death.

9. Shortness of breath

Shortness of breath, in addition to asthma and obstructive lung disease, can also indicate a heart attack or heart failure. People will feel short of breath to some extent after activities, but if they feel short of breath when resting or just doing light activities, it means that the heart is not getting enough blood, leading to hypoxia. If there is chest pain at the same time, the possibility of heart disease is greater, so you must be vigilant.

10. Sweating

When the heart's blood pumping cannot meet the needs of organs throughout the body, the sympathetic nerves are excited, the heartbeat speeds up, the skin and visceral blood vessels contract, the coronary arteries dilate, the blood pressure rises, the small bronchi dilate, the gastrointestinal motility weakens, the bladder wall muscles relax, the saliva secretion decreases, the sweat glands secrete sweat, and the arrector pili muscles contract.
