Four major categories of trans fatty acid foods need attention

According to the latest research, foods containing trans fatty acids are harmful to the human body. Long-term consumption of such foods can lead to memory loss and affect body functions. Trans fatty acids are widely added to ordinary foods, so when purchasing food on a daily basis, you should avoid foods containing trans fatty acids as much as possible to ensure that your family can eat more healthily.

1. Margarine

The cream used in most "fresh cream" cakes made by most bakeries is usually refined and modified vegetable fat. Artificial oils such as margarine (vegetable butter) contain trans fats. If the ingredients contain words such as "margarine", "shortening", "hydrogenated vegetable oil", "partially hydrogenated vegetable oil", "hydrogenated fat", "hydrogenated vegetable oil", "solid vegetable oil", "shortening", "artificial shortening", etc., then the food contains a certain amount of trans fat.

2. Hydrogenated Oil

One of the main ingredients of coffee companion is non-dairy creamer, the main ingredient of which is hydrogenated oil containing trans fat. Relevant research shows that hydrogenated oil contains more trans-unsaturated fatty acids, which are much more harmful to the heart than any other animal oil.

3. Shortening, cocoa butter substitute, margarine, etc.

Puff pastry contains shortening, which contains a lot of trans fatty acids. Low-end chocolate contains cocoa butter substitutes, some breads and pastries contain "margarine", microwave popcorn and some puffed foods also contain hydrogenated vegetable oil; crispy foods such as Indian flying cakes and straw hat cakes in restaurants may be made with fats containing hydrogenated vegetable oil.

4. Others

In addition, fast food, frozen foods (such as rice balls), baked foods (such as biscuits, cookies and bread), various instant paste-like foods (such as powdered oatmeal, coconut powder, etc.), various cream candies, peanut butter, chocolate sauce and fried foods (such as instant noodles, potato chips, French fries, etc.) may contain trans fats.
