People with narcissistic personality disorder believe that they have every reason to use others to achieve their own goals or wishes. Therefore, the purpose of interacting with others is to use others. They are unable to put themselves in other people's shoes and are even less able to be empathetic; they never consider other people's rights, feelings, and wishes; they only exploit and plunder others without giving anything in return. Those with mild cases will try to cover up their use of others and feel a little guilty after taking advantage of them. In severe cases, the behavior is blatant and without any guilt. Anyone who associates with a person with narcissistic personality disorder feels exploited and plundered, and over time, most people are unwilling to associate with him or her.

3. Thinking style: self-centered, casual

When the situation is favorable, they follow the laws of thinking. When the situation is unfavorable, they will engage in arbitrary imagination and fantasy without regard for the laws of thinking: for example, they will exaggerate their own abilities; arbitrarily transform objective failures into subjective successes; use embellishment to inflate their own value, prove that their self-evaluation is appropriate, and belittle anyone who does not acknowledge, exaggerate, or glorify them; make up lies or fabricate "facts" to maintain an image of self-esteem and arrogance. In severe cases, people may become obsessed with childish fantasies, believing that they will have endless success, honor, beauty, love or wealth, and may even turn daydreams into sophisticated hallucinations or non-psychotic delusions.
