Is it better to have toothpaste with or without fluoride?

Most of the toothpastes used in our daily life contain fluoride, but fluoride is not suitable for children, so the choice of toothpaste should depend on the group of people. Children should consider whether they are old enough to use toothpaste containing fluoride.

At present, the use of fluoride toothpaste in China has become very common, and many manufacturers also use "fluoride" as a selling point for promotion. In fact, in the ecological environment of different regions, the fluoride content itself is high or low. Fluoride toothpaste is not suitable for everyone, especially in my country. Except for Shanghai, there are some areas in other provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions with high fluoride problems. According to surveys, the incidence of dental caries in high-fluoride areas is relatively low, so there is no need to promote fluoride toothpaste in these areas, especially children should not use fluoride toothpaste. There are many varieties of medicated toothpastes on the market. Consumers should carefully select and be more careful when using fluoride toothpaste. Experts from Tangshan Yingzhuo Stomatological Hospital suggest that the following points should be noted when choosing fluoride toothpaste:

First, children under 3 years old are prohibited from using fluoride toothpaste. Children aged 4 to 6 years old should use it carefully under the guidance of adults. Children over 7 years old can use it, but they must not swallow the toothpaste.

Second, pay attention to the amount of toothpaste used when brushing your teeth. It is best to use only a soybean-sized amount each time, and no more than 1 cm at most;

Third, try not to use fluoride toothpaste in areas with concentrated heavy industry. During industrial production, fluorine is discharged along with the "three wastes" to pollute the environment, which will increase the fluorine content in the area;

Fourth, the elderly should use it with caution. People over 50 years old have reduced organ function, endocrine disorders, and are very likely to develop osteoporosis. If they use fluoride toothpaste, it will undoubtedly add fuel to the fire.

Fifth, before using fluoride toothpaste, education on preventing fluoride poisoning must be carried out, and the correct method of brushing teeth must be mastered. After brushing teeth, the toothpaste remaining in the teeth must be thoroughly cleaned. The most effective protective measure is to pay attention to understanding relevant knowledge in daily life and use daily necessities correctly.
