Although IQ is often innate, it can be improved through acquired efforts. You should use your brain more often, ask more questions, exercise your memory, and be a person who loves to laugh. These are all very effective in improving your IQ. 1. Drive your brain cells Studies show that people who get enough exercise have better brains. Scientists at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, California, found that adult mice that ran on a treadmill whenever they felt like running gained twice as many new cells in their hippocampus, the part of the brain that controls learning and memory, as mice that sat around all day in an Internet chat room discussing The Lord of the Rings. The researchers aren't sure why the brains of more active rodents responded this way, but they do know that voluntary exercise can reduce stress and therefore be more beneficial. This means that finding ways to enjoy exercise, rather than forcing yourself to do it, can make you smarter and happier. So, get some exercise, choose a training event like a marathon, triathlon or "fun run," or make it fun with a partner. 2. Ask why Our brains are wired for curiosity. As we grow older and become more “mature,” many of us begin to suppress or deny our natural curiosity. Let your curiosity be full! Ask yourself why these things happened. Ask people who know. The best way to exercise your curiosity is to ask “Why?” Make it a habit to ask at least ten “whys” a day. Your brain will be happy and you will be surprised at how many opportunities and solutions there are in your life and work. 3. Laugh Scientists tell us that laughter is good for your health; it triggers the release of endorphins and other positive chemicals in the body. I don’t actually need a scientist to tell us that laughing feels good. Laughter can help us relieve stress and break old patterns. Therefore, laughter can be seen as a quick recharge for the brain. Laugh more! 4. Be a fish head Omega-3 oils, found in walnuts, flaxseed and especially fish, have long been marketed as heart-healthy supplements. But recent studies show that it’s also a brain booster, and not just because it helps the circulatory system deliver oxygen to the brain. It can also improve the function of cell membranes in brain cells, which may explain why people who eat a lot of fish are less likely to suffer from depression, mental decline, and even attention disorders. Scientists have noticed that fatty acids are necessary for normal brain development in children and have included them in infant dietary formula. It is possible that your brain power and even your intelligence may be improved by consuming enough of this oil. Eating fish, such as salmon, sardines, mackerel and tuna, at least three times a week is a good start. 5. Memory Dig out an old photo album or high school yearbook. Your brain is a memory machine, so give it a chance to work! Take time for memory.
