How to deal with fever and sweating correctly

Sweating when you have a fever can actually reduce the temperature to a certain extent, but you must pay attention to the correct treatment after sweating. At this time, you should give the patient more water and try not to hold the child too tightly. If the fever persists, you still need to seek medical attention.

1. Generally speaking, the average temperature of the human body is around 37 degrees. One degree above or below is considered a normal temperature. Therefore, when the core temperature exceeds 38 degrees, it means there is a fever. If the child does not have symptoms such as febrile convulsions, there is no problem with a fever of over 39 degrees.

2. You can apply a cool wet towel to your child’s head to cool him down physically. If the child has symptoms such as convulsions, you should take him to the doctor promptly and have an EEG done about two weeks after the fever subsides. A high fever of over 39 degrees is very common for children. Don’t worry too much. Just relax and take good care of your child.

3. When the baby's fever exceeds 38.5 degrees, the doctor will consider using oral medications or rectal suppositories to reduce the baby's fever and teach parents how to take care of the baby. However, many parents believe that it is safe to help their baby reduce the fever as soon as possible. In fact, if it is a minor illness, the fever will last for about 2-3 days, and the normal attitude towards fever is to find out the cause behind the fever, rather than blindly asking the doctor to drive away the fever, because sometimes fever indicates that there is something special going on in the body!

4. Home care for children with fever:

1. Drink more water

2. Don’t wrap your child tightly

3. If the temperature exceeds 39 degrees, you can use warm water to bathe.

4. Get more rest. When your baby is sick, it is best to rest in bed to allow the child to recover and enhance resistance.
