Muscle strain is caused by excessive traction on the muscles during exercise. Common muscle strains include lumbar muscle strains, arm muscle strains, and leg muscle strains. Lumbar muscle strains can be acute or chronic. The injured area must be treated with medication in a timely manner. 1. Symptoms of lumbar muscle strain 1. Acute lumbar muscle sprain: caused by sudden twisting of the waist when bearing weight, often manifested as muscle fiber tearing. When the patient sprains the waist, he or she will immediately experience severe pain in the waist, be unable to straighten the waist, and be rigid in a certain position. The flexion, extension and rotation of the waist are restricted, and in severe cases, the patient cannot stand upright or walk. Pain occurs in the lumbar region and the sacrospinal muscles on one or both sides of the waist, accompanied by spastic stiffness. Tenderness may occur at the site of the lesion, often near the posterior superior iliac spine and lumbar transverse process. When the sprain is severe, local swelling may occur due to deep bleeding, accompanied by limited movement. 2. Chronic lumbar muscle strain: Patients experience long-term soreness or dull pain in the lower back. Rest, proper exercise and frequent changes in posture can relieve the pain, while fatigue and rainy weather can aggravate the pain. The lumbar movement is basically abnormal, but sometimes a feeling of restraint and discomfort may occur. Patients cannot sit or stand for long periods of time, cannot bend over for long periods of time, and often hammer their waists with both hands to relieve discomfort. When lumbar muscle strain occurs acutely, patients experience severe pain in the waist, limited waist movement and functional disorders. 2. Precautions Abrasions: If the injury is limited to the superficial layer of the skin, the wound can be cleaned with normal saline solution, and then the injured area can be disinfected with alcohol, iodine, iodine tincture and other drugs. Finally, the wound surface can be covered with sterile dressings, and the dressings should be changed every 3 to 5 days until healing. Before this, keep the wound clean and do not soak it in water. Muscle strain and soft tissue contusion: Once pain occurs, stop exercising immediately. Apply ice or a cold towel to the painful point and apply pressure to the injured area with an elastic bandage to constrict the small blood vessels and reduce local congestion and edema. Avoid rubbing, massaging, and hot compresses. After 24 to 48 hours of cold compress treatment, treatments such as promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, reducing swelling and relieving pain can be applied. Joint sprains and dislocations: They are mostly caused by sudden and excessive twisting of the joints, excessive flexion and extension, or direct or indirect violence on the joints, which can cause damage to accessory structures such as tendons and ligaments attached to the bones and joints. It is most common in the ankle, knee, wrist, shoulder and waist joints. |
