Sun-related skin disease

Sun-related skin disease

Sunshine dermatitis refers to dermatitis caused by exposure to sunlight. This phenomenon usually occurs in people with sensitive skin. Because the sun is very irritating, when it is directly irradiated on our skin, we will feel a burning pain in the skin. When observing our skin, we will see the phenomenon of peeling and redness. So how should sunlight dermatitis be treated?

Direct sunlight exposure causes solar dermatitis

The skin will show symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching, and rash when exposed to sunlight, especially when exposed to the sun. In summer, the face, hands, legs, neck and chest triangle, forearms, etc. are exposed to the sun, and it is easy to feel burning, itching and pain when exposed to the sun. It can be said that overexposure to the sun is the main factor causing solar dermatitis, and solar dermatitis is also more common in the hot summer season.

How to prevent: Solar dermatitis, also known as sunburn or sun spots, is a photosensitive skin disease, an acute inflammatory reaction of normal skin after exposure to the sun. To do this, first try to avoid sun exposure. Especially for patients who already have this dermatitis, they should apply sunscreen with SPF15 or above. Those with severe photosensitivity need to use sunscreen with SPF30 or above to protect the skin from strong stimulation of sunlight. Another thing is that the sunlight has the most ultraviolet rays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day, so try to avoid going out during this time. If you must go outdoors, you should wear loose long-sleeved clothes and pants, and wear a sun hat and hold a parasol for protection.

Photosensitive foods cause solar dermatitis

Photosensitive foods refer to those foods that are likely to cause solar dermatitis. Generally speaking, after photosensitive food is digested and absorbed, the photosensitive substances contained in it will enter the skin. If exposed to strong light at this time, it will react with sunlight. Then redness, swelling and rash will appear on the exposed skin, accompanied by obvious itching, burning or stinging symptoms.

Common photosensitive foods include: gray vegetable, sweet clover, snow vegetable, lettuce, fennel, amaranth, shepherd's purse, celery, radish leaves, spinach, buckwheat, coriander, safflower, rapeseed, mustard, fig, citrus, lemon, mango, pineapple, etc. In addition, "photosensitive seafood" includes snails, shrimps, crabs, clams, etc., which also contain photosensitive substances and need attention.

Exogenous photosensitizers cause solar dermatitis

The summer sun is the most terrible. In order to prevent ultraviolet rays from taking away the tender and white skin, choosing sunscreen skin care products has become a top priority for women. However, sunscreen skin care products usually contain sunscreens, which are currently mainly chemically synthesized UV absorbers. These UV absorbers are themselves photosensitizers, which can cause skin allergies and photosensitivity reactions if not used properly.

Cosmetics containing photosensitizers are exogenous photosensitizers. In addition to those that the skin comes into contact with on a daily basis, such as beauty cosmetics, exogenous photosensitizers also include fragrances in detergents, preservatives, aniline and aniline derivatives, dyes, etc., as well as those that are exposed in occupational environments or applied externally to the skin, such as tar and asphalt.
