How to remove oil stains from clothes

How to remove oil stains from clothes

It is almost winter now, and the low temperature makes washing clothes a very difficult task. If there are a lot of oil stains on the clothes, it will undoubtedly make cleaning more difficult. Even if some oil stains are washed off, they will still cause great damage to the clothes. So, what methods can effectively remove oil stains from clothes? Let’s take a look together below.

1. Toothpaste to remove oil stains

When clothes are stained with oil, squeeze some toothpaste on the stain, rub it gently a few times, and then rub it with clean water. The oil stain can be removed. You can also remove grease by applying alcohol or salt solution to the grease stain. If cooked oil stains your clothes, soak them in warm salt water, then rub them with soap and rinse them to remove the stains. Apply a paste made of alcohol and chalk powder to the oily stains on the leather jacket. After the paste dries, carefully wipe it off. If there are oil stains on silk clothes, you can mix talcum powder into a paste and apply it to the oil stain. After leaving it for a while, peel off the talcum powder, then put some thin paper on the silk and iron it flat with a not too hot electric iron.

2. Gasoline to remove oil stains

Wipe it with gasoline first. If the oil stain is too heavy, you can use olefin and turpentine to wipe it. After the oil stain is dissolved, wash it with detergent. Since it is a white shirt, it needs to be bleached with silk-drawing disinfectant at the end. This will make it look as bright as new.

Okay, after reading the above introduction, do you also think that removing oil stains is actually a very simple thing? The second method is very effective for stubborn oil stains and large areas of oil stains, but after use, you should rinse the clothes in clean water several times, so that the unpleasant smell of gasoline will not remain on the clothes, and the clothes will look like new.
