Which one is more serious, lupus nephritis or chronic nephritis

Chronic nephritis is the abbreviation of chronic glomerulonephritis. Its clinical manifestations are generally hematuria, hypertension, edema, etc. Its manifestations are different, but the disease will gradually progress. In this case, there may also be a decrease in renal function. In more serious cases, it may cause renal failure. Systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease. Generally, when the disease occurs, there may be symptoms such as fever and photosensitivity. So which one is more serious, chronic nephritis or lupus nephritis?

Is lupus nephritis serious? Lupus nephritis is very harmful to us. About 70% of patients with lupus nephritis will develop kidney damage, the only difference is the time of onset. Generally speaking, kidney damage in lupus occurs relatively late, usually within 6 months to 2 years of lupus onset. However, lupus nephropathy may also initially manifest as edema and proteinuria. Therefore, patients with lupus erythematosus must be alert to the onset of lupus nephropathy and pay close attention to some signs and manifestations of kidney damage after diagnosis.

About 1/6 of lupus nephropathy patients have varying degrees of renal function impairment at the time of diagnosis. Kidney damage in lupus erythematosus can be divided into:

① Nephritic syndrome type, similar to acute nephritis

② Nephrotic syndrome type, obvious edema, high amount of urine protein, hypoproteinemia

③ Chronic nephritis with decreased renal function type is similar to chronic glomerulonephritis, with edema, proteinuria, hematuria, persistent hypertension, accompanied by anemia, progressive renal function decline, and uremia may occur in a relatively short period of time.

④Acute type: the patient's condition develops rapidly, with persistent high fever, proteinuria, hematuria, increased red blood cell casts, and a sharp decline in renal function.

Is lupus nephritis serious? Experts say that lupus nephritis is very serious, and the following care measures must be taken in daily life:

(1) Regardless of whether it is the active stage of acute or chronic lupus nephritis, or the stage of renal insufficiency and failure of lupus nephritis, bed rest is required. When disease activity is controlled and alleviated, appropriate activities can be carried out during the recovery period of chronic lupus nephritis.

After reading the above, compared with chronic nephritis and lupus nephritis, the latter is more serious, but there are some methods to care for it, such as eating more foods with lower salt and fat content, and limiting protein intake, eating some lean meat and milk, etc. You can also have an infusion according to the doctor's requirements or take some Chinese medicine, etc.
