Can I drink purified water for a long time?

Now that people's living conditions are better, they will pay more attention to their physical health. In addition, due to some drinking water safety issues, many people tend to drink purified water regularly, thinking that this will be better for their health. But now there are some negative views that people cannot drink purified water for a long time, because purified water does not contain any nutrients, and drinking purified water for a long time is not good for health. So, can we drink purified water?

Purified water is the purest dead water and has no activity. The saying goes “When the water is too clear, there are no fish” - this is because water that is too clear contains very few minerals, which is not conducive to the growth of organisms. The same is true for people drinking water. Drinking purified water for a long time will reduce the body's immune function and cause the loss of some beneficial nutrients in the body. The elderly, especially those with cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, children and pregnant women should not drink this kind of water for a long time.

First, people who drink distilled water regularly give up the source of 5% of the trace elements needed by the human body from water, and also give up the calcium and magnesium ions in the water that protect the body's health.

Secondly, pure water has the highest solubility. As a carrier of human waste, it will inevitably dissolve more useful elements in the body and excrete them out of the body. The production of distilled water and purified water requires boiling the source water to allow it to evaporate, condense and be recycled, or to use reverse osmosis. During this process, other substances in the source water used to make distilled water that evaporate when heated will also condense into the distilled water as the distilled water is produced, such as phenols and benzene compounds that are harmful to health, and even evaporable mercury. The water obtained by reverse osmosis will not be theoretically pure water. To obtain pure water or ultrapure water, it must be distilled twice or three times, and other purification methods must be added. It is unlikely that distilled water sold on the market for drinking would do this, nor is it necessary to do so.

Our body needs to drink water regularly to meet its needs. It is okay to drink purified water occasionally, but drinking it for a long time is not good for your health, especially when your children are growing. Do not let your children drink purified water frequently, which is expensive and does not contain any nutrients. It may make your children sick.
