Causes of dry, peeling, and red skin

Causes of dry, peeling, and red skin

Nowadays, there are many reasons that can cause skin problems, whether it is a problem with one's lifestyle habits or the air in the living environment. Dermatological diseases are becoming more and more common. Dry, peeling and reddening skin is the most common disease. Although it will not cause a big impact on the body, it is better to solve it early. Here are some reasons for dry, peeling and reddening skin.

There are several reasons that cause dry skin. One, age increases. As we age, the skin's ability to retain moisture decreases, and sebum secretion also decreases, causing the moisture in the skin to decrease.

Second, insufficient sebum secretion. The surface of the skin is formed by the sebum film, which helps the skin maintain proper moisture. Once the secretion of sebum decreases, it cannot meet the needs of producing sebum film and the skin may become dry.

Third, the temperature drops. In the cold winter, the secretion of sebum and sweat will decrease rapidly, but because the air is too dry, the moisture in the skin will slowly evaporate, the skin surface will become rougher, and the resistance will be weakened.

4. Lack of sleep and fatigue. Lack of sleep coupled with fatigue can cause considerable damage to the body and poor blood circulation. When health is out of balance, the skin can become lifeless and prone to dryness and roughness.

5. Weight loss and picky eating. Extreme weight loss and picky eating can also cause your skin to become dry. When the skin cannot get enough nutrients, it will lose elasticity and moisture, making the skin dry and fragile. Dry skin is also known as xeroderma.

6. Other reasons. Indoor heating is too high, using overheated water to bathe, using irritating soaps or detergents, and endocrine changes, such as decreased estrogen secretion in women after menopause. Many people with dry skin have it because of environmental conditions, but stress is another contributing factor. In recent studies, experts have found that the higher a person's anxiety level, the slower their skin's permeability barrier (which retains moisture and anti-allergic substances) recovers.

Skin dehydration is a very serious problem. Most of the causes of dry, peeling and reddening skin are caused by dehydration. The first thing to do is to hydrate the skin. The skin care products you choose must be suitable for your skin type, otherwise it will affect the skin.
