Things to note after heart surgery

Heart disease is now a relatively common disease and also a disease with a relatively high mortality rate, so it has always attracted much attention. Heart disease is a general term for heart problems, including congenital, hypertensive, coronary heart disease, myocarditis and other diseases. There are many symptoms in the early stages of heart disease, but everyone does not pay much attention, which leads to problems in the later stages. So what should you pay attention to after heart disease surgery?

How heart disease is treated depends on the patient's condition. There are currently four surgical methods for congenital heart disease: the first is interventional fimbria occlusion; the second is small axillary incision surgery; the third is completely thoracoscopic minimally invasive repair; and the fourth is conventional median thoracotomy repair. Describe the recent cardiac ultrasound and preliminarily clarify the treatment plan and cost. If the condition is serious, treatment should be sought as soon as possible.

Anticoagulant drugs should be taken after cardiac intervention to avoid restenosis within the stent, mainly Plavix (clopidogrel), etc., and aspirin should be taken for life. Plavix is for a minimum of 12 months. Take medicine on time, lower blood lipids, blood pressure, and blood sugar, maintain your heart, and protect the stent. The first year after surgery is the high incidence period of restenosis, so regular check-ups are required. Generally, coronary artery examinations are performed six months or one year after surgery, and electrocardiograms, color ultrasounds, and blood tests are performed every three months, with follow-up visits if any discomfort occurs. Take care of your mental health. Adjust your mood, be aware of your condition, learn to control your emotions, do not let them fluctuate too much, do not be too happy or too sad. Strong stimulation can cause spasm and contraction of blood vessels. Be open-minded and cheerful.

Supplement minerals and vitamins: Eat more fresh green leafy vegetables, especially dark-colored vegetables, which are rich in carotene and vitamin C. The fruit is rich in vitamin C and contains a lot of pectin. Hawthorn is rich in vitamin C and carrots, and has significant effects on dilating coronary arteries and calming the nerves. Kelp, seaweed, hair algae, black fungus, etc. are rich in methionine, potassium, calcium, and iodine, all of which are beneficial to the treatment of coronary heart disease. In addition, vegetables contain a lot of fiber, which can reduce the absorption of cholesterol.

Control fat intake: Generally, daily fat intake should account for less than 30% of total calories. Appropriately increase the supply of unsaturated fatty acids, reduce the intake of saturated fatty acids, and control the cholesterol in food below 300 mg per day. This can reduce serum cholesterol levels to a certain extent and prevent blood coagulation.

The most important thing for patients is to immediately change their original living and eating habits. Maintain a regular schedule, don’t eat too much sugar, and eat low-fat and low-sodium food. Don't eat too much, just eat until you are 80% full. Quit smoking and drinking, as smoking will damage the cells in the blood vessel walls. Don't blindly believe in tonic medicines, and try not to catch a cold, as a cold can cause heart disease.
