How to bandage a wound?

Life is not always smooth sailing. It is inevitable that you will encounter many setbacks and hardships, and suffer many injuries. What should you do if you accidentally bump into something and get injured? At this time, you must deal with it actively, otherwise it will easily become infected and inflamed. Now I will give you a brief introduction to the method of wound bandaging. Come and learn it. You will need it in the future, whether it is for yourself or your family.

Tools and materials: medical gauze, iodine, scissors, cotton wool, medical tape, etc.

Clean the wound: Soak medical gauze in warm water, and then use the gauze to gently wipe off the stains on the wound.

Sterilization and disinfection: Dip cotton wool in iodine and gently apply it on the wound to kill bacteria and prevent infection.

Bandaging: There are many different ways to bandage depending on the cause of the injury. Here are the most common methods:

① Ring bandage method: This is the most basic and commonly used bandage method. Generally, this method is used to bandage small wounds after cleaning. It is also suitable for the neck, head, legs, chest and abdomen. The first circle is slightly slanted, and the second and third circles are ring-shaped. The slanted corner of the first circle is pressed into the ring, so that it is fixed more securely. Finally, use adhesive to secure the tail, or cut the tail into two pieces and tie a knot.

②The serpentine bandage method is often used to fix splints. The method is: first wrap the bandage in a circular manner for a fixed number of times, and then wrap it diagonally up or down at intervals according to the width of the bandage.

③The spiral bandage method is mostly used in areas with similar thickness. The method is: first wrap it several times in a circular manner to fix it, and then wrap each circle up to cover one third or two thirds of the previous circle to form a spiral shape.

④ To bandage the head with a triangular bandage, first fold the base of the triangular bandage and place it on the forehead. Pull both sides to the back of the head and make a half knot with the base, then wrap it around the forehead and make a knot to secure it.

⑤ Triangular bandage hood-style bandage: Tie a knot at the top corner and bottom edge of the triangular bandage to form a hood shape. When bandaging the head and face, place the top knot on the forehead and the bottom knot under the back of the head, wrap the head, pull the two corners toward the face, fold them outwards and wrap around the lower jaw, then pull it behind the pillow and tie a knot.

⑥ Chest bandage: If the right chest is injured, place the top corner of the triangular bandage on the right shoulder, pull the bottom edge to the back and tie a knot on the right side, then pull the right corner to the shoulder and tie a knot with the top corner.

⑦ The method of bandaging the back is the same as that of bandaging the chest, but the positions are opposite, and the knot is tied on the chest.

⑧ Bandaging of hands and feet: Place the hands and feet on the triangular bandage, pull the top corner in front on the back of the hands and feet, then wrap the bottom edge and tie a knot to secure it.

If it is a small wound, you can handle it yourself, but a large wound requires going to the hospital for sutures. When bandaging, you must move quickly so as not to increase the pain of the injured person or increase bleeding. The bandage should not be too tight, as it will affect the patient's blood circulation. It is best to use sterilized dressings to bandage the wound.
