What are the symptoms of pleural effusion

The human chest cavity is originally filled with liquid. It is generally believed that when the fluid in the chest cavity exceeds a certain value, this will lead to excessive fluid in the chest cavity, which is clinically diagnosed as pleural effusion. If the human body is shown to have pleural effusion, it indicates a pathological change, or simply put, a disease. What kind of harm will this disease bring to the human body? Next, let us understand the clinical manifestations of pleural effusion.

1. For patients with pleural effusion, it is imperative to go to the hospital for examination. Of course, there are many issues that require attention. For example, a detailed description of age, medical history, symptoms, and signs can all be helpful in making a diagnosis. Because for the same disease, the age of onset may be different, so the patient's physical discomfort symptoms, or the clinical manifestations of the disease may also be different, or even different. We must pay attention to this situation, so as to improve the accuracy of the judgment of the disease and facilitate the treatment of the disease.

2. Because tuberculous pleurisy is more common in young people and often accompanied by fever. Patients over middle age should be alert to pleural metastasis caused by lung cancer. Inflammatory effusions are mostly exudative and are often accompanied by chest pain and fever. Pleural effusion caused by heart failure is a transudate. Therefore, you must judge whether you have pleural effusion according to the group you are in.

3. Right-sided pleural effusion associated with liver abscess may be reactive pleurisy or empyema. When the amount of effusion is less than 0.3L, the symptoms are not obvious; if it exceeds 0.5L, the patient will gradually feel chest tightness. There is local dullness to percussion and decreased breath sounds. As the amount of fluid increases, the two layers of pleura are separated and no longer rub against each other with breathing, and the chest pain gradually eases, but the dyspnea also gradually worsens. When a large amount of fluid accumulates, the mediastinal organs are compressed, and palpitations and dyspnea become more obvious.

Since the disease is a pathological change, it definitely requires treatment. This is the only way to achieve the goal of good health. In fact, small details in life can also be used to properly treat pleural effusion. For example, we should take in more vitamins every day and choose a lighter diet to facilitate intestinal absorption. Of course, we must avoid drinking and smoking in life, otherwise it will aggravate pleural effusion.
