What are the clinical manifestations of small intestinal hernia?

Small intestinal hernia is a relatively common and multiple disease. It is not a big or small disease. There are no obvious symptoms in the early stage, but as time goes by, the condition will become more and more serious, and patients will find it unbearable. If it is delayed without treatment, it will be incurable, so it must be discovered and treated early to avoid lifelong regrets. So, what are the clinical manifestations of small intestinal hernia?

Hernia occurs regardless of age or gender. It can occur in children, the elderly, men and women. The patient will feel a noticeable bulge on the surface of the abdomen or in the private part. Symptoms are more pronounced when coughing, constipated, lifting heavy objects, or standing for long periods of time. Patients with inguinal hernia have a protruding mass in the groin area. Apart from occasional symptoms such as bloating and indigestion, there are no other obvious discomfort symptoms, so it is often easily ignored.

Patients experience symptoms such as lower abdominal distension, bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, poor nutrient absorption, fatigue and physical decline. Because inguinal hernias are adjacent to the urinary and reproductive systems, elderly patients are prone to bladder or prostate diseases such as frequent urination, urgency and increased nocturia. Children may suffer from the normal development of the testicles due to the compression of the hernia. Young and middle-aged patients are prone to sexual dysfunction.

Intestinal hernia is a common and frequently occurring disease that endangers human health. Except for a few infants, it is almost impossible to heal itself. The two most common methods to improve the symptoms of small intestinal hernia are surgical treatment and conservative treatment (i.e. non-surgical treatment). Surgical treatment of small intestinal hernia is the conventional treatment and one of the most common treatment methods. Although it has certain advantages, especially when incarceration or strangulation occurs, it cannot be replaced by other methods. However, small intestinal hernia surgery has certain risks and limited indications, and there is also a recurrence rate of 4%-10%. In recent years, non-surgical treatment methods have received increasing attention at home and abroad, and their methods have been continuously improved, with significantly improved results.

Lie flat as much as possible and move less within one week after the operation. Avoid strenuous activities within two months. Also, keep warm to prevent respiratory infections. Fever and cough should be avoided to avoid severe coughing, which will increase abdominal pressure and cause the tightly tied hernia suture to fall off, resulting in a recurrence of hernia. So pay special attention. Children need to increase their nutrition and eat more eggs, lean meat, fish, duck, chicken, vegetables and water. You need to fast within 4 hours after the operation, including drinking water. After 4 hours, if the gastrointestinal motility is normal, you can drink water first. If there is no vomiting or other discomfort, you can eat soft and easily digestible food.

After the operation, patients must not let the wound come into contact with water, which requires not to take a bath for the time being. If you really can't bear it, you can wipe the body with clean water. Generally, whether to take a bath depends on the condition of the wound. You can take a bath in about five or six days. You should also drink more water and eat more vegetables and fruits. Observe the condition at all times.
