Signs of sexual maturity in boys

Signs of sexual maturity in boys

When boys enter puberty, most of them will feel shy, nervous and uneasy about nocturnal emission. After they have nocturnal emissions, they dare not let anyone know, as if they have done something shameful. If you feel a little unwell after nocturnal emission, you will suspect that it is caused by nocturnal emission and worry that it will make you sick.

In fact, nocturnal emission is a normal physiological phenomenon that occurs when young men enter puberty and their reproductive organs mature. As the saying goes, "When semen is full, it will overflow." When the body is full, there is too much semen stored in the body, and sexual excitement is enhanced. If there is other stimulation, such as dreaming about the opposite sex, pressure from bedding, tight underwear, etc., nocturnal emission will occur. The secretions from the epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate, and urethra are usually discharged with urine and go unnoticed. Semen, like various other secretions in the body, is continuously produced and has no fear of excretion. From a physiological point of view, these secretions are excreted in the same amount as they are produced, so there will be no problem of depletion that affects health. On the contrary, if prostate secretions are not discharged for a long time, they will accumulate and concentrate, and may easily form crystals or stones. Spermatorrhea marks the maturity of male reproductive function.

If an unmarried man has nocturnal emission once every 1 to 2 days or several times a night, it is called frequent nocturnal emission. This excessively frequent nocturnal emission is often a manifestation of increased excitability of the cerebral cortex, which often leads to premature ejaculation, and then inhibition due to excessive excitement, which manifests as impotence. Frequent nocturnal emission is a pathological condition that requires attention and appropriate treatment.

Many people believe that semen is the essence of the human body. There is also a saying among the people that "ten drops of blood are equal to one drop of semen". They believe that nocturnal emission will deplete a person's vitality and make the body weak. Some young people become worried after having nocturnal emission, which is totally unnecessary. In fact, semen is not that precious. During nocturnal emission (including ejaculation during sexual intercourse), about 2 to 6 ml of semen is discharged each time. Although the composition of semen is complex, its main components are water, protein and some sugar, and the proportion of protein and sugar is very small.

Some people feel dizzy, have back pain, and feel listless after having nocturnal emission, and they believe that this is caused by nocturnal emission. This is also a misunderstanding. The above symptoms are mainly due to the lack of scientific mental health knowledge, acceptance of some unscientific legends and suggestions from old books and periodicals, which lead to the above-mentioned pathological conditions and psychologically threatening stimulation. The mental burden caused by this is not due to nocturnal emission or loss of semen. The mental burden caused by not understanding nocturnal emission is much greater than the impact of nocturnal emission itself.

If you have frequent nocturnal emissions, pay attention to the following points:

1. Pay attention to mental health and mental conditioning, eliminate the psychological state of fear, tension, and anxiety, cultivate a cheerful, optimistic, calm, objective, and strong character, always maintain a relaxed and happy mood, eliminate distracting thoughts, clear your mind and desires, be indifferent and empty, go with the flow, and recuperate for a period of time. This situation will naturally be alleviated.

2. Pay attention to your daily life. Wear loose clothes and do not eat too much at night. Wash your feet with warm water before going to bed. The bedding should not be too heavy, and the feet should not be covered too warmly. Make a habit of sleeping on your side.

3. Control your sexual desire and quit masturbation. Do not read, and especially do not be obsessed with, pornographic books, magazines, films, television and audio-visual products. Gradually quit masturbation, reduce mental burden, and gradually recover psychologically.

4. Participate in more cultural and sports activities, cultivate a variety of amateur interests and hobbies, and participate in physical labor appropriately. Treat interactions between men and women normally and don’t mystify them.

5. Actively treat diseases that cause spermatogenesis. If the foreskin is too long, it should be surgically removed; develop good hygiene habits and clean the foreskin of the penis frequently to avoid the accumulation of smegma; if you suffer from balanitis, you should seek timely treatment.

6. Don’t feel embarrassed because you think that nocturnal emission is something vulgar and obscene. After nocturnal emission, you should pay attention to the cleanliness of the external genitalia, wash and change your underwear frequently to prevent urethral inflammation.

Frequent nocturnal emissions can be treated with some simple treatments:

1. Cold water bath: Rinse the scrotum with cold water for 2-3 minutes every night before going to bed.

Massage the perineum (between the scrotum and the anus). Use the index, middle and ring fingers of your right hand to massage the perineum for 10 minutes before going to bed. The technique is to use the ribs of your fingers to stroke back and forth until you feel a sense of heat.

2. Anal lifting exercise: Before going to bed every night, sit on the bed and contract the anus (the action is like holding back a bowel movement), repeat 20 to 30 times, inhale when contracting, and exhale when relaxing.
