What are the indicators of mild anemia

Anemia is a common disease, among which mild anemia is the most common. Generally speaking, the symptoms of mild anemia are not very obvious. Therefore, for friends who want to know whether they have anemia, it is quite necessary to understand the indicators of mild anemia. So what are the indicators of mild anemia? Next, this article will give you a detailed introduction.

Anemia refers to a common clinical symptom in which the red blood cell volume in the human body's peripheral blood is low and below the lower limit of the normal range. Since the measurement of red blood cell volume is complicated, hemoglobin (Hb) concentration is often used instead in clinical practice. Mild anemia may or may not cause fatigue and dizziness.

What are the indicators of mild anemia? Chinese hematologists believe that in my country's sea level areas, adult males with Hb <120g/L, adult females (non-pregnant) with Hb <110g/L, and pregnant women with Hb <100g/L are considered anemic. The diagnostic criteria established by WHO in 1972 consider anemia to be diagnosed when Hb is lower than the following levels in sea level areas: 110 g/L for children aged 6 months to < 6 years, 120 g/L for children aged 6 to 14 years, 130 g/L for adult males, 120 g/L for adult females, and 110 g/L for pregnant women. It should be noted that the normal hemoglobin value of residents who have lived in plateau areas for a long time is higher than that of residents at sea level; during pregnancy, hypoproteinemia, congestive heart failure, splenomegaly and macroglobulinemia, the plasma volume increases. At this time, even if the red blood cell volume is normal, the hemoglobin concentration decreases due to blood dilution, and it is easy to be misdiagnosed as anemia; when the circulating blood volume is reduced due to dehydration or blood loss, due to blood concentration, even if the red blood cell volume is low, anemia is easily missed due to the increase in hemoglobin concentration.

How to treat mild anemia? Treatment of mild anemia does not necessarily require iron supplementation; iron supplementation through food alone can be used. According to nutritionists, foods rich in iron include animal liver, egg yolk, red dates, beans, lean meat, kelp, mullet, shrimp, seaweed, black fungus, mushrooms, etc. As long as these foods are eaten properly, they can meet the body's needs for iron and play a role in preventing and treating iron deficiency anemia.

Clinical studies have shown that the scientific use of food to supplement iron does have significant therapeutic effects on mild anemia. The method is to have three meals of red date porridge and one meal of fried carrots and pork liver every day. Observations show that dietary iron supplementation can significantly improve anemia symptoms. It points out that the effect of iron supplementation through food may not be as obvious as that through drug supplementation in the short term, but to fundamentally solve the problem of iron deficiency, food supplementation is the simplest, most economical and effective method, and it can avoid the side effects of drugs.

Note:

If it is mild anemia, you can adjust the diet and let your child eat more iron-rich foods, such as seafood, fish, shrimp, kelp, pork liver, lean meat, and soy products also contain a certain amount of iron. Sesame paste is also rich in iron. Avoid picky eating. If the case is more serious, such as moderate to severe anemia and hemoglobin is below 10 grams, iron supplements are needed. What we often use are iron sulfamate and ferrous sulfate. At the same time, we also need to take vitamin C to promote the absorption of iron.

The above is an introduction to the indicators of mild anemia. I believe that after reading the above introduction, you already know what the indicators of mild anemia are. In fact, as long as the blood pressure is slightly lower than the anemia index, it is already mild anemia. Regarding the treatment of mild anemia, in fact, there is no need for any treatment. It can be adjusted through diet in daily life.
