If you don't do this after washing your underwear, it's a waste of time

It is common sense that everyone knows that underwear should be washed and changed frequently.

However, due to the limitations of building conditions and lack of awareness, many people hang their underwear directly in the bathroom or indoors after washing, ignoring the most critical step - drying the underwear.

Microbiological research shows that a pair of dirty underwear contains an average of 0.1 grams of feces. Human excrement contains pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli. Proper washing and drying of underwear can help kill these bacteria. The ultraviolet rays in sunlight are the best natural disinfectant and can also help your underwear dry quickly. If you always hang your underwear in the bathroom, the humid environment will make it easier for bacteria to grow, which will result in wasted washing. Wearing this kind of underwear for a long time without drying it in the sun may cause vaginitis.

It is recommended that you put your underwear in the sun for half an hour after washing it.

To avoid dust, do not dry clothes with the reverse side out after drying. Shake them before putting them away, and try to store all underwear separately. If conditions limit your ability to dry your underwear at home due to lack of sunlight or consecutive rainy days, you should at least hang them in a ventilated place to dry, or directly use high temperature treatment, such as ironing them, drying them in a dryer, or blow-drying them with a hair dryer, to prevent the wet underwear from providing convenient conditions for the growth of bacteria or getting them contaminated with dust.

In addition, when washing underwear, do not put it in the washing machine with other outerwear. The best way is to wash it separately by hand, and do not mix the underwear of family members with it. You can also use some disinfectant when washing, such as soaking the underwear in 102 detergent, disinfecting it, then washing and drying it. It is best to throw away underwear that you wear frequently every three to six months. If the underwear becomes deformed, the material becomes dry and hard, or there are stains that cannot be washed off, you must throw it away.
